His steps are assertive as he tows me; projecting me into the unknown.

Upon traversing the sliding glass doors, the energy transitions from suffocation to relief.

And it's then, I remember to breathe.

The way his fingers are perfectly interlaced with mine causes some of my anxious thoughts to deplete.

The railings enclose the spacious terrace and the view of the sunset manages to take my breath away as I'm mesmerized by God's creation.

The waves reflect the orange hue emitted from the sun's rays in perfection; almost as if they're having a silent exchange.

The hydraulic balcony's elevation allows us to observe the picturesque twilight hues from a perfect angle.

Like the waves, my strands dance with the wind as they forget to invite my tears into their fest.

"Beautiful, isn't it?"

His voice comes off as almost inaudible to the point where I convince myself it must've been in my imagination.

But the words that escape him after he takes a puff; confirm my sanity.

"It's insane. . .everytime I think I've got you all figured out, I realize how much I've been living in the dark."

I shift my poignant gaze to Ludovic as his eyes are still glued to the scenery.

"Why are you here?" I begin in delicacy, "Why are you talking to me when you can be in the company of your friends right now?"

He avoids my gaze as he draws his cigar to the tip of his mouth.

As he retracts his fingers, he releases a puff into the atmosphere; repeating the same routine every thirty seconds or so.

"How am I supposed to answer a question I myself don't know the answer to?"

Taken aback, I blink owlishly.

I diverge my gaze back to its initial position as we continue to observe the sunset in silence.

None of us take it upon ourselves to break our intertwined hands; causing my heart to catapult in complete instability.

He's dragging me into a whirlwind of insanity and I'm letting him.
