"Madame Chair, Theo refuses to accept the endorsement deal," Vanna alerts once she steps into my office, "we've tried reaching out to his agent to reconsider but to no avail."
Confusion dawns on my face.
When the majority of the board was adamant about firing him permanently, I had to fight tooth and nail to convince them Theo is a great asset to the company.
At first, the majority were against the idea of keeping him as a business partner but things drastically took a different turn when Theo's club won the UEFA Champions League last week.
All of a sudden, the board has been more than eager to keep Theo as a business partner.
"Fine," I begin abrasively, "we'll just have to do things the old-fashioned way then."
Vanna's face is perplexed.
"It's time to pay Theo a little visit," I declare as I spring up from my seat to pick my purse.
After grasping a folder from my desk, I extend it in Vanna's direction.
"I was supposed to stop by at Devin's place to give him this," I trail off causing Vanna's confused glance to magnify, "but I'm gonna have to take a raincheck if I intend to make a stop at Theo's place.
"Can you go to Devin's club to make him sign the investment agreement in the folder?" I query causing Vanna to freeze on the spot.
Since Devin recently requested me to help him find an investor for his nightclub, I've wasted no time endorsing his business to some of the biggest investors I know.
Since then, Devin claims he owes me one.
I choose to entrust my PA with the investment agreement since she's someone I've grown to trust.
Vanna refuses to snap out of her daze causing me to snap my fingers.
"Vanna, can you get it done?"
She jolts to reality before clearing her throat, "Of c—course. I'll deliver it to him right away."
I squint my eyes at her rather odd behavior.
But I choose to let it slide.
"He usually works at his nightclub around this time," I explain, "I'll text you the address so you can be on your way."
Vanna nods animatedly, "O—okay."
I exit the room in a haste.
As I take the elevator leading to the lobby, I send Theo a text indicating:
We need to talk asap. Let me know where to find you.
A few minutes pass before he responds.
If it's about the endorsement deal, you can forget it.
Too bad I don't take no for an answer.
