Olly slipped on his sweater, one of the few that were actually his, not the ones that he stole from Tommy. He walked out into the snow, white and sparkling in the light. It crunched under his boots as he made his way over to the store. Along the walk, he looked at the pale blue sky and frosted ground. Many trees had fairy lights on them, in time for Christmas.
Olly had told Tommy he was going to get the presents that his parents were going to give to him, which usually wasn't much due to the other many children in the household getting many presents. While that was true, he was also going to the store to get Tommy a little present. Olly walked up the parking lot of the Dollar store.
As dumb as it seems, you can find some really fun things at a Dollar Store. Especially for two very fidgety people. The first thing that caught his eye was a small set of wooden animals. It had a pitbull, an alligator, a cat and a frog. They didn't have colour, only little wooden characters that could all fit in his hand. He couldn't just ignore them so he got them for Tommy. We also got some chocolate for Tommy's parents, and a big one for Tommy and him to share while he was at it.
Olly bought them and went to his house, or his family's house as he sometimes put it. The house was big and a very nice yellow colour. The roof was grey and had a few windows and a balcony and both left and right sides and the door in the middle, symmetrical. A big maple tree stood on the front lawn to the right and a tricycle was half-buried in the snow under said tree. He remembered climbing that tree when he used to live every day in this house.
Just as he climbed the steps to knock on the door, it opened to reveal two of his younger siblings standing there with a baseball bat and a very powerful nerf gun. They both sighed in relief when they saw it was just Olly.
"Why do you have weapons?!?" Olly exclaimed. "Oh thank God Olly we thought you were one of those girl guides." Olly looked at them like they were crazy. "Girl guides only come in Fall and Spring?" He questioned. The twins looked at each other, realizing their misunderstanding. "Anyways, come inside Ollzie, Mom and Mason want to see you!" The younger of the twins brushed off the odd interaction.
"MMOOMM! OLLY'S HOME!" There were a few loud sounds upstairs and a young girl's voice shouted back "We don't care!" "Allie be nice!" An adult voice called back. Olly had 5 other siblings, bringing the total of kids to 6.
Allie(7) and Georga(5) are the girls of the family. Aaron(12) and Adian(12) are the twins and Nathan is 19 and is off being successful in college or whatever. Mason is their stepdad and the father of Allie and Georga. Why they decided to have two more, Olly could never guess.
Mason came down the stairs, waving to Olly. They never had the closest relationship but it was comfortable enough. Then his Mum came downstairs and started gushing over him. Olly giggled and tried to push her kisses and hugs away.
"I missed you so much! How is your boyfriend, Tommy? Oh, I miss seeing him! Bring him over after Christmas, will you?" Olly nodded. "Oh, but you came for your presents. I got a little something for Tommy and a card to their parents as a thank you for keeping you safe. I couldn't have my baby in good hands without a thank you." Olly beamed. He always liked his mother's attention, even if most teenagers would find this humiliating.
His Mum handed him a box, it was sort of medium-sized and could be held easily in two arms. They had that sort of one-sided conversation most people had when talking to Olly, where Olly just nodded at everything as the other rambled. Then it was time to go. The twins and Mason wished him a good Christmas and he headed home.
Olly was happy the whole way home.
...............
Olly came through the door and was greeted by Tommys Father, who had come home for Christmas from his long-distance job. Olly nodded back at him and shoved the box of wooden animals in his pocket to ask Mrs. Innit to wrap it later. He put the box from his Mom under the tree.
Olly washed his face and brushed his hair a bit, but honestly, the curly mess was untamable without a shower. He knocked on Tommy's door softly.
"Hi Olly, Im streaming." Olly walked in and waved at the camera, but went off the camera to get clothes for his shower. He was about to walk back out the door but Tommy muted himself and complained.
"Hey. You can't leave without my affection." He whined pouting like a toddler. Olly rolled his eyes and walked to him, letting him give him a small kiss on the cheek, which made chat go CRAZY. "I'm showering," Olly informed Tommy, pressing a kiss onto the top of Tommy's head.
"Without me?" Tommy joked in a silly voice, Olly laughed and left with his clothes.
I think that's the longest one I've made yet 900 words
