🐸.... Mighty Fine weather, eh? Ok okokok I dont really have an excuse for being gone for like a year but I swear I will try not to do it again. Thats a lie to make myself feel better. Ok ok refresher: Im Frog they/it, all of these chapters are really old and I hate most of them. Here you go, Il try to write some better ones in the future. Also, my crusty drawing of Sundrop. He looks like a living corn chip.
Tommy had to jog as Olly ran down the street, to the park where he liked to forage. Tommy had no idea what Olly was so thrilled about, but it couldnt be anything dangerous. Probably just a pretty flower or something. Olly was quite fond of flowers, maybe Tom should get one for him soon.
"-and then I came across this weird tree where there was a dug out hole under it, and a really weird dog was in it! I think its stuck but Im kind of scared of it. Your arms are long enough, and youre very brave, so you can unstuck the dog!" Olly droned on and on. He repeated was he was talking about so much that even if you only caught the last sentence, you could still know what he was talking about.
"Well, I guess I could get a dog out. They arnt wild here- We have to being it to the animal shelter." So it is a pretty good idea. Once there, the two shimmied under the fence and ran though Ollys steady trod path. Sometimes, Olly wondered if other people used his path and entry point too. He hasnt caught anyone though, and is far too impatient to wait and watch if somebody does go through. Tommy stepped on something that crunched under his shoe. Picking it up, he was a sharp peice of glass lodged deep in his shoes. Olly 'oooooh'ed at the glass and as Tommy carfully tugged it out, he asked if he could have it.
"Well dont cut yourself- I guess." and they were on their way again, down the trail of dry mud, trees and overgrown weeds.Olly broke off of the trail and went to swerving in a small narrow tunnel of trees. Then the trees let off, and there it was. A weird, tree and a weird dug out den at the base. The tree was most obviously dead. Dry, scratchy, and a very pale beige. Dried mud cracked under their dirty sneakers as they walked up to the tree, crouching at the bottom.
"I could hear him earlier. Really sad whining." Olly informed Tommy. Tommy walked around the tree and looked for a smart course of action. "Il get bit or something if i stick my hand in there, you know. Kick the fuckin tree and scare them out, that would work..." Tommy mumbled partly to Olly, partly to nobody. Olly got the look on his face he usually gets when hes given the chance to fuck something up, bouncing up and kicking the oppisite side of the tree so hard that it made a large CRACK. Of course, something on the other side darted out, and Tommy screamed at it. Manly.
Tommy didnt scream because it was fast, he screamed because it was a fucking coyote. Apon getting one or two paces out, the coyote yelped loudly and swung back. It had a plastic net around his neck, secured to the tree by a sharp root on the dead tree. Frantically, they tried to escape, but to no avail. Tommy and Olly stood back in shock. "Alright. Not a dog. Not a dog, but thats fine. Ok, what were gonna do is im going to tackle the coyote, youre gonna keep his mouth closed while i get the net off his neck." Tommy explained. The coyotes eyes were glued to Tommy and his partner, flicking between them. A dangerous and native predator, probably with rabies. Tommy would have completely dragged Olly away from it if it wasnt hurt. Coyotes never pass the vibe check, thats something you have to learn in the forest.
Tommy and Olly dispersed, both walking on different sides of the coyote. From here, the coyote didnt know who to pay attention to, and Tommy pounced. It stuggled and cried, and Tommy almost recoiled, but kept a firm grasp on his scruff. The shorter boy helped by pinning the coyotes lean muzzle so they couldnt bite. Trying to move as fast as possible, Tommy tugged and dug his nails into the net, but it wouldnt bugde. "Ugh! This is the shit they use in construction places. Its too tough. Why couldnt you get caught in a softer plastic, little man?" Tommy complained, still ripping at the orange net. Coyote growled in retaliation. Olly frowned at the sight. "Maybe a knife could get though it." Tommy thought out loud, Olly gasped, taking out the sharp peice of glass from before and handing it to Tommy. "Olly! Olly Olly Olly my little man, this is why I love you!" Tommy praised, grabbing and effortlessly cutting the net. On count of three, the two let go of the coyote and backed up fast.
With newfound freedom, the cotote scratched his neck, scrambled onto his paws, and dipped. Just ran away. To be honest, Tommy expected that, but the whole way home Olly complained that the coyote didnt look back in wonder, thank his saviors and mysteriously hop into the woods. Tommy was just glad he did a good deed. Hopefully that coyote was happy.
Then Tommy remembered he scheduled a stream. Slightly shattered, Tommy kept being happy for Olly then prepared himself for what was to come.
