Zeldris hadn't slept since Meliodas left. He wasn't quite sure why he did, but he thought it might have to do with the conversation he had had with Veronica Esta and Elizabeth. He didn't know how much English he could understand, but even if he could tell a little bit of it, it would be enough to make him leave and feel unwanted.
He hadn't liked Veronica from the start, so it wasn't unusual for him to be cold to her as she returned it, but Elizabeth was new. He considered her a friend and knew she was close to Meliodas. Knowing she could side with something so horrible, made him lose a lot of respect for her regardless of her apologies and offers to help him look for his brother that he ignored.
He looked for days on end and even spent his time scouting looking for him instead of for food or supplies. However eventually the search had to stop as a blizzard came through.
While others secured supplies and stored in preparation, he worried for his brother out in the storm. He didn't know if creatures like him could survive against that kind of cold, but he definitely knew no human could.
But apparently one person didn't care.
"Elizabeth where are you going!?"
He looked up from his seat to see Elizabeth and Veronica standing at an open door.
"I have to fix this! I'm the one who made him leave. I shouldn't have said those things and neither should you have! Meliodas has never hurt us and yet he left because he didn't feel welcome... He could be dying out there!"
"Ellie if you go out there then YOU will die! I can't let you do this!"
"I have to!"
And with that she went out before Veronica could grab her and push her back in.

She looked for hours, her fingers turning deep red under her gloves from the cold. She called out for him again and again to try to get a response, but her cries were drowned out by the storm.
The blizzard was getting worse and it was getting hard to see. Her hair and large jacket kept blowing around with the winds and disorienting her.
Soon she could barely stand against the winds and she fell to the snowy ground. Shaking from the cold and the tears going down her face that soon froze.
She didn't know how far away she was from the base as the wind had pushed her around in many different directions, and the lack of knowing where she was was terrifying to the young girl.
Her hands and face felt completely numb as the rest of her was approaching a similar state.
I'm sorry.... I'm sorry for pushing you away Meliodas.. I'm sorry for making Zeldris and Esta lose their brother again... I'm sorry for making Veronica lose another sister... I'm sorry for leaving... I'm so so sorry for everything....
Her thoughts began to quiet as her body started pushing her towards sleep, but before she could reach it she heard a growl and felt warmth get closer to her.
This is it... a monster has come to eat me. I'm going to turn into the very thing I feared so much..
However death and pain didn't come, instead she was put against something very warm and comforting. Wanting to be closer to the thing warding away the cold, she snuggled closer and heard a familiar purr greet her.
