Cedric had been getting attention all night. Everywhere he went there were at lease five people wanting to talk to him.

He was a popular guy before he became a Tri-Wizard Champion, but now that he was he couldn't get a second to himself. Not even in the Hufflepuff dorms. Any hope of getting a moment alone with him at the Yule Ball had gone completely out the window the moment you arrived. Students from all three schools crowded around you and Cedric.

"I need to get out of here right now," Cedric caught your elbow as you went to walk off with Hermione.

"Nice to see you too," you teased, letting him pull you off to a dark corner.

"I'm serious," he looked over your shoulder for anybody who might come up and talk to him. "If I have to answer any more questions from Durmstrang meatheads I'm going to drown myself in the Black Lake."

"Alright," you took his hand in yours. "Let's get you out of here."

"The astronomy tower?" Ced asked, picking up on the familiar route you were taking through the castle. It was the one you always took when you didn't want to get caught by Filch and needed a moment alone.

"Yup," you responded, slipping off your shoes as you rounded the corner and pushed open the heavy door that led to the stairs of the tower. You turned to face Cedric, a finger pressed to your lips signaling him to stay quiet. He smiled sweetly and motioned for you to go on.

The stairs were cold as you ran up to the top, Cedric on your heels. You leaned against the railing and slipped your shoes back on. Cedric came to stand behind you, his hands falling on your hips.

"I've always loved it up here," he hummed in your ear. "It's so relaxing."

"Mm," you responded, closing your eyes and letting his warmth embrace you.

"I miss it when it was just us," Ced sighed deeply. "When we didn't have to worry about the tournament or Durmstrang or Beauxbatons."

"Me too," you turned around in his embrace to face him. "But it will be over soon, and we can have that back."

"You should come home with me this summer," he said. Your eyes widened in surprise. "We haven't gotten a chance to spend any time together this year and, well, I want to be able to be with you before we have to enter the real world."

"The real world that's full of magic and monsters?" you teased, poking him in the chest. He laughed and looked down.

"You know what I mean."

Your placed your hand on his cheek. His skin was cool and against your touch. His pale eyes flicked up to your face.

"I would love to spend the summer with you," you smiled.

"I would love to spend the summer with you," you smiled.

Cedric kissed you sweetly, passion and love on his lips.

Meanwhile the Great Hall was in absolute pandemonium. Nobody could find you or Cedric. Professor McGonagall knew exactly where her two top students were, but said nothing. Despite the show she put up for the first years as a stickler for the rules, she always let them slip when it came to her favorites. She knew how desperate Cedric had been for a moment alone since he was chosen for the tournament, and was hell-bent on giving him just that. Even if it required a slight breaking of the rules.

"You know exactly where Diggory is," Professor Snape said as he came to stand beside McGonagall and watch the chaos unfold.

"I do," McGonagall answered.

"And you're not going to go fetch him?" Snape asked.

"I am not," Minerva turned. "Those two have been the center of the school since Albus pulled his name from the Goblet, Severus. It can't hurt to let him and Y/N have a moment to themselves. Besides. they'll be safe in their dorms before long."

"I suppose you're right."

"I'm always right."
