CHAPTER 7 : ONLY TIME WILL TELL

-CARTER POV-

I sit in the dining room, waiting for Natalie to come downstairs for breakfast. I don't know what is holding her up. I asked the maid to go and get her like half an hour ago. I stand up and walk to the door, I walk out and walk to the stairs, going up the stairs to the top floor. I walk to Natalie's room, the closer I get, the louder I hear music from her room. I stand in front of her door and listen, I can faintly hear her singing. I knock on the door, but there is no answer. I open the door, slowly. I walk in as I look around, seeing Natalie, dancing by her bedside table as she is busy on her computer.

I walk to her and tap her shoulder. She jumps and turns to me. She says loudly "What the bloody hell, Carter?" I smirk at her and she turns around and turns her music off. She says as she turns to me "How can I help you, Love?" I say as I push a lose strand of hair out of her face "Didn't the maid tell you that I wanted to see you in the dining room like half an hour ago." She slightly frowns as she shakes her head no as she says "No, I told the maids not to come into my room if I don't answer, and I didn't hear a knock, why did you want to see me?" I say as I put my hands into my pants pockets "I want you to come into the office with me today, I have an employee to fire and you want you there." She looks at me as he crosses her arms over chest "For what exactly, Love?" I smirk at her as I say "You are the one who traced the missing money and I want you there to show everyone that I am not messing around, that my personal assistant is the best of the best." She just stares at me.

Natalie says as she walks to her walk in closet, opening the doors and walking inside, looking around "Fine, I will go with you, but I am going to spend the entire day there and actually do some personal assistant work. And I don't want any leash on me, I want free reign, got it." She shoots me a look as I walk to the closet and look at her. I sigh as I think about it. I say as I cross my arms across my chest "Fine, but as long as you promise to keep me updated on your whereabouts and to not get into any trouble." She smirks at me as she says "Deal, now get out so that I can get ready." I just stare at her for a moment, then she says as she makes a leaving signal with her hand "Go, Love." I grin and retreat backwards as I look her up and down. I turn around and walk to the door, walking out and closing the door behind me.

I go back downstairs and walk to the dining room. I sit down and pick up my cup of coffee taking a sip of it. Jennie sneaks into the dining room, looking around suspicious. I look up at her and say as I put my cup down "Relax, Dolce Torta. Natalie isn't here yet, she will come down soon, so hurry up with why you are here."(Italian - Sweetypie) She walks to me cautiously as she says "I feel very uncomfortable that Dave sent me instead of coming himself." She hands me a little box and says "This is the new project that we have been working on. It is tested and works completely, all you have to do it activate it remotely from your tablet, and Dave already installed the program on your tablet. There is also a system build in with that program that allows you to access all cameras that are in range of this device." She hands me the small box and I open it.

It is a necklace with a silver chain and a black metal piece and with small buttons on them in the middle, it is covered on both sides with a black stone. Jennie says as she looks at me "It has a live tracker in it, so that you can know exactly where it is at all times and a SOS system for when the person wearing it is in trouble. It has a speaker in it so that you can speak to the person and the person can speak to you, it can also record voice messages by holding in the call button, there is a sim already in the charm. It has a build in charger that uses solar power through the small solar plates under the stones. You can set up a Geo-Fence so that an alarm will go off when it is out of range. It is perfect for you to keep track of her." I look at her and say as I close the box "Thank you, Jennie." She nods and turns around, walking out of the dining room.
