The next morning I left Uraraka's dorm early to shower. After that I changed out of my cat pajamas and put on a large t-shirt and some shorts. I walked to the cafe, bought a coffee and sat in front of the window. I texted Mina for a bit, sipping my coffee slowly. I left about 30 minutes later and took a walk in the park. I watched as a group of kids were playing tag, laughing and giggling. Something hit me in the back of the head and I turned around. I picked up a ball and looked at a team of boys.
"Hey, can you throw that back?", a red headed boy asked.
"Yeah!", I said chunking the ball at him. They thanked me and returned to their game. As I headed back to campus I went back to the music store. I picked up an electric guitar and started playing. The owner of the store approached me.
"Hey, nice playing skills. You play regularly?", he said.
"No, I know how to play, but I don't own a guitar.", I replied.
"Tell you what, that guitar you're holding: you can keep it."
"You're kidding, right?", I said surprised. He shook his head.
"I seen you yesterday with that boy, and when I heard you play, I knew you had some potential", he replied.
"Thank you so much! This means more than you know!", I exclaimed. I examined the guitar, and I knew that this was meant to be.
He gave me a case to put it in and sent me on my way. I thanked him one more time before I left. I walked back to my dorm with a smile on my face. As soon as I walked through my dorm, I busted open the case and hugged my new guitar. I moved my fingers over the strings carefully, admiring the beauty of the instrument. I played my guitar for a bit when I heard a knock on my door.
"It's open!", I said. Jirou peeked through the doorway.
"Hey, I didn't know you played? Can I join you?", she asked.
"Come on in! The more, the merrier!", I told her. She walked in with a bass and sat by my desk. We started jamming out for a few minutes, then people started coming by to watch us. Soon, we had a whole crowd joining in and singing while others stomped their feet to the beat. We finished the song and everyone applauded. We both took a bow and that made everyone cheer even louder. Jirou left as soon as the crowd moved on. I put my guitar away and took a nap. I woke up a few hour later. I checked the time and realized I only had 30 minutes to get ready. I rushed to my closet, picked out a dress, fixed my hair, and rushed out the door.
I rushed to the Zoo and checked my phone. Only 15 minutes to spare. I sat on a bench waiting for him patiently. Two seconds went by when I heard my name.
"Moeru! Glad you made it!", Iida yelled as he ran up to me.
"Iida, you're early!", I said as I stood up.
"I always like to be early. Especially for today", he replied smiling.
"You ready?"
"Of course!", he said as he offered me his hand. I took it happily and we walked to a nearby restaurant. He opened the door for me and we waited for someone to seat us. I took a deep breath and inhaled the delicious scent of the kitchen. After we were seated, I looked through the menu. I didn't eat anything, so everything sounded good.
"Order whatever you'd like, it's my treat", he said.
"You don't have to do that. I can pay for dinner, so you can pay for the tickets", I suggested.
"No, as a gentlemen that would be rude. Please, let me do it", he asked. I nodded my head and continued looking at the menu. This was my first date, and I was surprised at Iida's kindness. We ordered our food and shortly after that we started talking.
"The Sports Festival is coming up. Are you excited?", I asked.
"Absolutely, but I'm also trying to be prepared. I must do my best as an Iida son. I can't bring shame on my family name. That would be disgraceful.", he said.
"I know you'll do amazing, Iida. Don't doubt yourself.", I encouraged him as I slipped my hand over his. He hesitated for a moment, but he interlocked his fingers with mine in a ever so gentle way. We both smiled and blushed for a few seconds, but I remembered there was something I wanted to ask him.
"I was talking with Uraraka and Tsuyu the other day, and I wanted to mention something to you, if that's alright?", I said.
"It's quite fine. Ask away", he replied.
"We were talking about the attack on the USJ. I've seen it on the news, but what exactly happened?" He paused for a moment and cleared his throat.
"The class was about to begin training with Thirteen when The League of Villains came. They wanted to destroy All Might, but we couldn't let that happen. Each of us were teleported somehow to different places in the building.", he told me.
"Uraraka said that you were able to get help from the Pro Heroes by escaping the USJ. Is that true?" He got a little bit prideful and had a intimidating look on his face.
"With the help of our classmates, I was able to find the Pro Heroes and send help. I was nervous at the time, but I knew the fate of my peers was in my hands. I had to do something.", he replied.
"Wow, that's really brave of you. You truly are a hero, Iida!", I exclaimed. He blushed a bit at my compliment.
"No, I'm really not a true hero. I was just helping, that's all", he hesitated.
"Are you kidding? The courage to go up against a villain, are you crazy? That's a real hero!", I told him. A proud smile formed on his face. Our food arrived a little while later, so we started eating. After we finished, we headed to the Zoo. We looked at the amphibian section for a bit then moved on. We walked on for a bit, but it got kinda awkward so I broke the silence.
"What's your favorite animal, Iida?", I asked.
"I think I like jaguars because of their speed.", he replied. "What about you?"
"I like sloths. They always seem chill.", I said. All of a sudden I felt something scrape over my foot. I checked my foot and there was a small bleeding wound. Iida started to make a big deal about it.
"Moeru! Don't worry! I got a first aid kit!", he yelled as he picked up my foot. He examined the scar and sprayed some alcohol on the scratch. I winced at the pain as he wrapped up my foot in a bandage.
"You shouldn't be walking on a wounded foot.", he said as he picked me up bridal style. Everyone was watching and I turned red. He noticed my reaction.
"Here, I'll run using my quirk so no one will see us.", he suggested as he took off. The wind blew in my face, so I buried my face into his chest to block the cold wind. When I looked up, we were already back to the dorms.
"I'm sorry our date had to end so early", I told him.
"No, it's quite alright. I should be the one apologizing. I hope you can forgive me for this.", he said as he kissed me on the lips. When we touched, I felt sparks fly. I didn't want it to end, but he pulled away after a few seconds. We looked at each for what seemed like forever, then we both turned bright red and chuckled.
"Good night, Iida. I had a fun time.", I said as I opened my door.
"Good night, Moeru. Get some rest, we have a busy week ahead of us.", he replied as he left. I curled up in my bed, happier than when I was with Todoroki. I thought for a second, then I realized my emotions were confused. Two boys and one girl. I couldn't decide. It took me a while to fall asleep that night as I kept thinking and thinking about this ultimatum. I knew it would come back and bite me in the ass. I just hoped it wasn't soon.
