Chapter 17A: Olivia's old town & Chapter 17B - so long and good riddance.

Chapter 17A: Olivia's old town.

Seeing as she had some time to kill, she wanted to get to know Olivia's friends better while jasper looked around the town. She made it to the adoption centre in terrific time and she walked in to see Brian working at the desk. "hay brain. Do you know where Olivia is?" "yeah, she's currently helping with the younger ones." Brain responded as he handed her a map. She used the map to find Olivia in the small library reading to some of the children. Onyx just leaned against the wall as she waited for Olivia to finish. She pulled out her great aunt's book and she started reading it closer than ever before. She was looking for some kind of crystal that could be used for the "boost" mode on the multi tool as the rare gravity crystal she was using didn't seem to be able to make it function.

"all righty kids. I need to go and talk to my friend now. See you all next week for more story time." Olivia stated as they all left. The kids gave onyx's weird looks, but she was completely expecting it. "I didn't think a goth like you would be good with kids. "onyx stated as a joke. "yeah, well I'm still better than you." Olivia responded and they both chuckled. "so are you ready to meet them?" Olivia asked after they were shushed by the librarian. "yep, let's go." Onyx responded and the pair walked off. It was stage for onyx to see so many children in one place as she had almost forgot what being in school was like. They soon arrived back in the room where onyx was greeted by Isabella and jessie. "hay we didn't get to meet properly last time I saw you guys." Onyx stated as she tried to extend her hand for a handshake. "don't bother, she'll never take you up on that." Jessie explained as she was talking about Isabella.

"sorry, I'm not the best with meeting new people." Onyx responded as she put her hand on the back of her neck. "do you mind if I ask you something?" Isabella asked and onyx didn't mind. "how did you get your skin grey. Olivia won't tell us anything other than it was related to that incident last year." She asked. Onyx turned back to Olivia who shrugged and explained "not my secret to tell. I saw how upset you were getting at mad at Gwen for telling everyone." Olivia explained. Onyx then explained about the experience of that incident and her superpowers. "that explains allot." Isabella responded. "since we areal ready on the topic, can you tell us who max is? You've been talking about him in your sleep for the past few weeks." Jessie asked.

Olivia paused and she looked around the room. "max was the police officer who took me to my aunt's house. He was nice, and I want to thank him one day, but I can't go back to that town without being threatened back inro my aunt's house." Olivia explained. "I can take you." Onyx stated out of the blue. "I don't know, I don't want to drag you into this." Olivia stated. "with everything going on with the bootlegs I could use something like this." onyx explained as she was trying to convince Olivia. "besides we can be back before dark." Onyx responded. "all right, let's go." Olivia responded as she gathered a few small things together. "do you two want in?" Olivia asked. "as much as I want to say yes, I'm going to say no as this seams pretty personal." Isabella responded and jessie agreed with the statement.

"all right then, shall we go?" onyx asked and the two went outside of the house. Onyx encased Olivia in a grey bubble and the two sped off. Olivia gave the best instructions she could, and they soon arrived at the city. Onyx let Olivia out of the bubble, and she stated, "you have reached your destination." Oliva looked and she knew they were in the right city. They looked around and onyx was impressed nearly every building was a skyscraper. "I bet you feel underwhelmed?" Olivia asked. "not really. I have gotten to use to the crystalopolis, I live in the only skyscraper there. My grandad designed it and seeing some of the other things he done, it's in his style." Onyx explained. She grabbed some food. "this place doesn't seem so bad." Onyx said as she started to eat on her hotdog that was overfilled with toppings. "all right so where to next?" onyx asked when somebody noticed Olivia.

Chapter 17B - so long and good riddance.

"all right so where to next?" onyx asked when somebody noticed Olivia. "aren't you that missing kid?" Olivia was asked. "maybe, who's asking?" olive responded and the cops where called on them. When the cop car arrived two cops stepped out of the car. One of them staired at Olivia and she staired back. "is that you Olivia?" he asked. "I didn't want you to see me like this." Olivia responded. Onyx just darted her eyes back and for forth. "where have you been?" he asked. Olivia didn't want to respond and the two were taken to the car where they were, they were taken to a room where the three of them could talk. On the drive over they introduced themselves.

When in the room the cop started to ask questions. "first things first, who's your friend and why is her skin grey?" onyx spoke up "my name is onyx "beryl" zirconia. My skin is grey due to a skin condition." The cop bought it and Olivia was asked where she had been. "I ran away from my aunt's house and I moved back to midtown." Oliva explained. "why?" "sorry max, she was just a terrible person." "she's the one who explained you were missing." Max responded. The room fell silent and max realised what she was saying. "so why did you come back here?" max asked. "I wanted to see you again. You did what you thought was the right thing and I am finally able to talk about it." Olivia explained but before anybody could say another word max was called off by someone who walked into the room.

"sorry to in erupt you max, but we've got an armed robbery going on downtown." The person said as he ran out of the room. "sorry girls, I got to go." He stated as he ran off and showed them the back exist. "should we do something or..." Olivia asked but onyx had already her suit on and she sped off. The cop car arrived at the bank after not too long and there a some of the criminals where shooting at the cops. "we need backup." One of the cops shouted but they didn't have any backup. Suddenly a grey and green streak came speeding past. Any bullets that where being shot just stopped and where floating in the air.

In the front of them was a masked figure that was wearing a grey and green suit. They tuned their head to show a tinted glass helmet. They nodded and sped off towards the criminals. The masked hero only stated one word that sounded like it was being distorted "run." The criminals tried to run but they were enveloped in a grey glow and they were put into their cop cars with their guns taken off them. The masked hero than ran inside the bank where the money was taken back inside the vault and the criminals where left outside of the front steps while the guns where left in the only empty car. After the hero had left the two girls shortly arrived.

"is everybody ok?" onyx asked, as Olivia hunched over. "everybody is ok." One of the cops explained. When max go a closer look at onyx, he saw the green streaks other air and how her fingernails where green. "you get theses back to the station; I need to talk to the girls here." The two go scared, and they were pulled to the side by max. "you two wouldn't happen to know about the masked hero that just showed up and left when you two arrived?" the two tried to hid their knowledge and they failed very easily. "girls, I just need to know the identity of the person so I can have a talk to them about doing my job for me." Max explained and Olivia cracked. "that was onyx." Onyx stared at her id disbelieve. "seriously, what happened to keeping my powers a secret?" onyx asked, and Olivia didn't have an answer.

"you have powers, onyx?" max asked crossing his arms and a raised eyebrow. "I'm not even from this dimension." Onyx explained as she kicked a rock. "if you're not from this dimension, how are you here?" "I can create portals to other dimensions. I've only has this power for about 4 months, but I've had my powers for about a years and a half." She explained. "how long have you been here?" max asked. "that answer is a lot more complicated. I've been on this earth since I was 8 but I recently managed to get back home, and I still visit this dimension as most of my friends are here." Onyx explained. "what am I meant to do with this information?" max asked as onyx pulled out a notepad from the pocket of her hoodie. She wrote down a few names and Olivia asked what she was doing.

"back in my own dimension I'm a sort of celebrity. I'm known, but I tend to spend most of my day in the citadel. Here I need to be careful who I tell as it can lead to some kind of trouble with the government or something worse. If I do my entire family could be in trouble at best and I could probably never return at worst. It was ok in midtown because it's a mid-sized town with little governmental interference. This is a big city. But if you trust him, I trust him" Onyx explained as max listens to her reasoning. "I'm not going to turn you in. just be careful about others probably will." Onyx nodded and it was getting dark. "I'm so glad we didn't run across my aunt. That would have been a disaster." Olivia stated as she bumped into someone.
