The rest of the school day went by in a blur. The whole day had been exhausting, yet I couldn't stop smiling. My heart was still doing happy flips in my chest.
I walked out to my car, with Aleah and Grace in tow behind me. We decided to hang out while the boys were at football practice. We pile into my car, and I start the engine, getting ready to pull out of the parking spot.
The drive to my house was uneventful. We sang to some song on the radio, chatted about school, and sat in a comfortable silence once we had nothing unimportant to talk about. I unlocked the door once we arrived. It wasn't even two second in before both girls were grilling me.
"When we're you planning to tell me all about Eli? I need the details, sweets. And you're withholding them all." Grace pouted at me. I gave her a small smile and started to talk.
"Well.. We said 'I love you' today. That's why we were late for lunch. I'm happy, we're happy. Everything is amazing. Brandyn knows, obviously, and there were a few bruises but other than that everything went great." I ramble on, not realizing the two best friends were staring at me with their mouths gaping open.
I look at them confused, "What?" I ask. Then they start to screech and squeal so loud I can't understand any of what they are saying. "Wait. Guys. Calm down, what's going on?" I ask them. They eventually calm down enough to answer me.
"You guys said 'I love you'? Why didn't you tell us sooner, we're so happy for you!" Aleah says as she pulls be in for a bear hug. Aleah and Grace are polar opposites. Aleah is more of a tomboy than a boy is a boy. And Grace is the definition of Barbie, sweet, innocent, graceful. It's literally in her name.
"This is amazing Elli! Now we can go on a double date!" Grace blurts out. I had forgotten about her and Hayden's date. But by the look on her face, she didn't mean to blurt that out. My grin widens as I look at her, oh how the tables have turned.
"That's right. You went on a date with Hayden a couple weeks back. I haven't heard much from either of you since it happened. Is there another secret relationship going on now? Are you two together, finally? We have been dying for you two to get together already, the sexual tension was exhausting." I say, hoping to sound as casual, even though I'm jumping up and down in my head.
Grace and Hayden have been into each other for at least a year now but who knows how long before they started showing it. Aleah and I have been trying to get them together since they both told us that they liked, or were attracted to, each other on two separate occasions.
"It's not a secret relationship. I'm not sure it's even a relationship. We haven't really had time to talk about it, we've been busy with school, and he soccer. I mean we've been on a couple dates, but, it's ... just never came up." She shrugs, but I see the dejection in her eyes.
She really wants there to be a relationship. I know how she feels, that how I felt before Eli asked me to be his girlfriend.
"Honey, he has been talking about you non-stop since you two went out. He wants you, and you want him. Just pull him aside or call him and tell him that you want more. I know for a fact that he'll want more too." Aleah interjects. I see Grace smile slightly, already feeling better from talking to us.
We sit around and watch a movie before the boys walk in. Aleah and Grace had to go home, so I was left alone with the two boys.
I look at Eli to see him motioning to B. I figure out what he wants me to ask him. I'm nervous, I hope he says yes, needing the time alone with Eli.
"Brandyn? Have you decided if I could go to Eli's for dinner? You could have Alissa over. Please? His mom will be there to supervise." I practically beg him. I really want some alone time with Eli.
