I was walking over to my first class for the day when a guy I sat beside in English walked over to me.

"Hey! I feel like I've seen you somewhere," The young man murmured, walking up to me. His blue eyes seemed to sparkle as we made eye contact.

"Uh, ya. I think I know you from English," I replied, doing my best to look calm and cheerful. "My name's Y/N."

"Oh ya! I remember now. Nice to meet you, Y/N. I'm Darryl," He smiled, reaching out his hand. I hesitantly shook it. "Anyways, we better get going. It was nice meeting you!"

"You too!" I called after him as he turned his back to me and walked over to his class. I smiled to myself. He seemed nice.

The start of the day passed rather quickly with not much exciting happening, and it was soon break. I walked over to the cafeteria and sat down at the table that I always sat at with Brigit and Samira.

Brigit was already there and I quickly sat down beside her.

"Hey!" Brigit greeted me, smiling. "How are you?"

"I'm good, how are you?" I replied. I mean, I wasn't exactly good but I also wasn't exactly bad either.

"I'm pretty good too," She smiled, taking a small bite from the granola bar she had in her hand.

"Hi guys!" Samira suddenly interjected, making me jump slightly.

"Hey!" Brigit responded.

"Do you guys want to come over to my house after school?" She asked, sitting on the other side of Brigit. "My parents will be out so we'll have the whole house to ourselves! Except my brother might be there."

"Sure! I'll have to ask my parents though," Brigit answered her.

"Alright, cool!" Samira replied, grabbing a container from her bag. "What about you, Y/N?" She looked over at me.

"Uh," I murmured hesitantly.

"C'mon! It'll be fun!" Brigit declared, looking at me with a hopeful expression.

"Fine, I guess I can," I sighed dramatically but smiled a bit on the inside when I saw their faces light up.

They actually want me to come.

I knew my father would be angry if I went to some else's house but he would just have to deal with it!

I had never thought of my father in the sense that I could do what I want and he would have to deal with it. I smiled slightly.

Maybe I actually have a chance at being a happy normal person with normal friends, right?

"Anyways, we should probably get back to class," Samira declared.

"Alright, bye guys!" Brigit waved.

"Bye!" I waved back at her.

The rest of the school day passed rather quickly and school was soon over. As I walked over to the exit of the school, I saw Brigit and Samira waiting for me and I smiled.

"What took you so long?" Brigit laughed as we began to walk out of the school and down the streets.

"Why were you out so early?" I replied, punching her gently in the shoulder.

The walk to Samira's house was quite short and we got there in about 5 minutes. We quickly walked inside and kicked off our shoes.

Samira's house was quite big. Not as big as the house that the party took place in but still quite a decent size.

As I walked inside, the first thing I smelt was the strong scent of lavender coming from a candle. Which was much nicer than the almost constant smell of alcohol that filled my house.

"Have you been to Samira's house before, Y/N?" Brigit asked, looking at me.

"Uh, no, I haven't," I replied, looking around at the room I was in, which happened to be the kitchen.

"C'mon then! You should go look around!" She declared excitedly, grabbing my wrist and dragging me out of the room. "So this is the living room," She stated as we entered the room.

It was quite large and had two couches and a recliner in it. It also had a big flat-screen tv about five feet above the floor. In the middle, was a large fluffy carpet with a small coffee table in the center. Laying on the carpet sleeping soundly was a large white dog with very curly, fluffy fur.

I jerked out of Brigit's grasp and ran over to the dog. "Is this your dog?" I gasped. The moment noise came out of my mouth, the dog jerked his head up and looked up at me excitedly.

"No, it's our goldfish," Samira responded sarcastically. "Of course it's our dog, dummy!" She laughed.

I reached out and scratched him gently behind the ears. "It's Rocco, right?"

"Ya," She replied.

"Come on! I wanna show you Samira's room!" Brigit declared impatiently after a moment of me fawning over the dog.

I slowly stood up. "Bye, Rocco!" I called as I followed Brigit up the stairs and down the hall.

Samira's room was the last one at the end of the hall. I opened the door gently and stepped inside.

"Your room is so big!" I gasped as I walked inside. There was a big queen-size bed in one corner and a large desk sitting beside it. There was also a small dog plushie that looked exactly like Rocco laying on the bed. On the opposite wall as the bed were two large bookshelves filled with books with a purple bean-bag laying in between them. There were two windows in the room, one sitting just above the bed and another above the bean-bag.

"Let's go play a game or something," Samira suggested, walking back down the hall and I quickly followed.

"How about truth or dare?" Brigit replied.

"Sure, I'd be down for that," Samira declared.

We soon reached the living room and sat down. I sat down beside Rocco who was laying in the center of one of the couches. I petted him gently on the head.

"Alright, Samira, truth or dare?" Brigit started, looking over at Samira.

"Truth," Samira replied.

"I think I'm going to go get some water, you guys can keep playing," I murmured, slowly standing up off the couch.

"Alright," Samira replied, "Do you know where the sink and cups are?"

"I'll find them," I stated, slowly walking away over to the kitchen.

I quietly searched through the cupboards and soon found the cups. As I was about to start filling it, I heard the front door open. I glanced over at the door and saw the person I least expected to see.

It was Samira's brother.

Otherwise known as the guy that I made eye contact at the party, the guy who was talking with Jessica.
