"It's okay Luffy! Just hurry and sit down, let's start the lesson." Mr Bones (or as Luffy called him: Brook) says.
"Okay!" Luffy enthusiastically marches to the back of the class.
Law glares at Luffy as he walks up to the desk next to him. Luffy practically throws his backpack under his desk and notices Law, causing him to smile widely. "Torao! We have a class together!"
Law averts his eyes from Luffy, his smile being too bright for Law to look straight at. "I guess so."
Luffy jumps onto his seat and drums his fingers on the desk, happily looking around the classroom like it's the best day in the world. Law doesn't understand it. Luffy's thoughtful gaze stops on Law, to which Law internally signs. "How's your first day so far?" Luffy asks.
Law lazily puts a thumb up, but really he feels the opposite. He's bored, and tired.
Luffy brightens at his response. "I'm glad!"
Law doesn't respond and watches Mr Bones write something on the chalkboard about the Russian Revolution.
Luffy bounces his leg up and down. Law questioningly raises an eyebrow at the other, it seems like he has a lot of energy stored in him.
"So what did you eat for lunch?"
Law raises his eyebrow at the random question. "Uh what?"
Luffy chuckles. "Silly Torao, I asked what you ate for lu-" Law stops him by putting a finger over his own mouth, pointing at the teacher who is lecturing to the class.
Luffy blinks and tilts his head at Law confusingly.
Law stares at Luffy for a while, quickly scanning over the other to finally take in his features. Luffy has a lean and wiry build, and his skin is smooth and tan. His jet black hair sticks out in a spiky mess under his strawhat, and then Law notices an interesting mark under his eye. Where did the scar under his left eye come from? He figures he's been studying Luffy for too long, so he puts those thoughts away, gesturing toward the teacher and whispers. "Listen."
Luffy pouts and suddenly sticks a lanky arm into his backpack, pulls out his notebook, and rips out a page to scribble something on it. He reaches over and puts the paper on laws desk.
Law looks at the paper and in the messiest handwriting he has ever seen, is written:
Let's talk on here :-)
Law almost wants to laugh at Luffys childishness. Law doesn't understand why Luffy wants to talk with him so bad, cant he tell he just wants to sneak in a little nap in class? He's tired and is too lazy for any interaction at the moment.
Law directs his attention to Luffy to see him staring back at law with a small smile, waiting for a response. Law takes his pencil and writes something on the paper, causing Luffy to smile wider.
Law hands it out to Luffy and he happily grabs it, opening it only to be met with a blunt response:
No
Luffy frowns and shoots a stubborn look to Law. "Lame-o." He then crumbles the paper in defeat and shoves it into his backpack.
Law studies him a little more. Luffys outfit, is surprisingly decent. He's wearing a red sweater with a skull on it, blue jeans and red converse. Law assumed a guy like Luffy would just throw on whatever he saw the first moment he woke up, like a pair of basketball shorts, so he wasn't expecting color coordination.
Law shifts his thoughts and wonders why this guy is all up in his business, does Luffy want to be friends with him? He certainly hopes not.
Before he knows it, the class ends and everyone is packing their things and getting up to leave.
