CHAPTER FOURTEEN . A LINE WE CANNOT CROSS

Money.

The real world revolves because of it and clover kingdom revolves around it.

Y/N didn't exactly understand how currency works in the kingdom. Yuls isn't anything like the system of money back in her own world. So, how the hell is she going to buy things she needs?

There really wasn't anything, in particular, she needed nor wanted to buy. But having pocket money in case anything comes up, she considered it necessary. Merely imagining the scene where she'd go and ask her current captain for the week was embarrassing enough.

Plus, Yami was broke.

Very, very broke.

She sighed deeply, pouting in place while running a hand through her hair. 'Geez, where can you even find work here?'

The doors of the library swung open to reveal Julius with Yami behind him. The two seemed to be in a bright mood as they came in with smiles planted on their faces, and the sound of their laughter instantly filled the silent room.

"Oh, it's pouty strange!" Yami pointed out.

"Pouty?"

"You're always pouting, and you're strange. Gotta problem with that, brat?" narrowing her eyes at him, she huffed in disbelief before returning her gaze to the list she held with both of her hands.

Julius chuckled at their interaction and walked near her, taking a peek at the piece of parchment. And in a blink of an eye, the paper was already in the hands of Yami Sukehiro.

"Hey! Give that back!" she whined, scrambling the books, and not giving a single care if she accidentally stepped on them while Marx stared in pity for the books, his heart aching at the sight of wasted parchment.

But Yami's muscles were too intimidating even if she tried, "You're a real jerk! Did anyone ever tell you that? No wonder Captain Charlotte hates you." 'Oh no, I said what--'

Yami, after hearing her, removed the cigarette stick on his mouth, "She said that to you?" he asked. The former playful tone no longer traceable.

"No. I... was only joking."
