CHAPTER TEN . ONE STEP FORWARD

Y/N has been fidgeting in place the moment she realized this was indeed a date with the William Vangeance. The very character she used to stare at in front of the screen and fangirl over is now in front of her.
'Her cheeks are still red... how cute.' the man in front of her thought, staring at her keenly, fascination visible in his orbs, and with both of William's arms crossed, he could not become more obvious. He's lovestruck!
The little boy rolled his eyes and tugged the robe of the girl from below, pulling her out of her trance, "Miss pretty magic knight."
"O-oh, uhm, y-yes?" she stuttered, trying her hardest not to look at the masked man whose smile was spreading wider across his face as he knew that she was well aware of the fact that his eyes never, for one second, left her face.
"I think I want to go home now... I miss my mommy." the little boy then shedded fake tears as Y/N took him from the ground and made the boy sit on her lap that for some reason, made William feel uncomfortable.
"Alright then little one," she said, bopping his nose, "Let's get you home to mommy." the girl nervously looked at the Golden Dawn's captain and asked him if they could leave, to which he replied most courteously with a yes.

'He's still looking at her hand!' The little boy cried in his mind as he watched how William attempted to hold her hand for the walk, but every time he did, Y/N would catch him and when asked what he was doing would reply: "Nothing."
'Think, think! What can I do to help Mr. Vangeance?' he placed a hand on his chin as he went deep in thought.
'A-HA!'
The boy looked at Y/N, "Miss pretty magic knight?" he called out, not noticing that the two were finally conversing happily which he interrupted.
"Yes?" she hummed.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" with a quirked brow, William looked at her curiously, hiding the fact that he was not ready whether or not what her answer could possibly be.
Y/N sighed, patting the boy's head as they walked before answering, "I used to."
"Why did they break up with someone as pretty as you!?" the boy nearly exclaimed in frustration making the girl giggle in place.
"Well, they said I wasn't good enough so there's that. I mean, I think he's right tho haha. I'm not worthy of that kind of love anyways." though the woman smiled at the two of them, William could see and feel the sadness her eyes and words held, 'How could someone of value such as yourself not be good enough?' he thought.
