Chapter 4 - Rescuing AVA

Holding his phone against his chest, Nate turned to Sara, "My Dad is on the phone, he says he has a mission for the Legends." "He's in charge of the Bureau, now isn't he?" "Almost, he takes over fully next week." "Put him on the screen, let's see what he has for us." Hank popped up on the large screen so they could all be briefed on what mission the Bureau had for them. Hank acknowledging Sara, "Hi Miss Lance, hope your travels to Zambesi went well." "Hi Mr Heywood, the mission went very well. This one must be important to get us involved, how can we help you?" "Legends, the mission we have for you is indeed very important and very close to home, this is for one of our own. You know the current Director of the Bureau, Randy Sharpe, it's his daughter, Ava Sharpe."

"Ava is a Criminal Profiler who also works at the Bureau. She was scheduled to be at Iron Heights this morning to speak to Eobard Thawne, who we believe is a close associate of Ra's Ah Ghul. We also have good information that Ghul is behind the recent string of terrorist attacks in Star City. Director Sharpe received a phone call this morning from a person claiming to have his daughter and wants to trade Ava for Thawne's release." Sara interluded "so how long has she been gone for and do we have proof of life?" "I have the recording from the phone call the Director received, I'll play that for you." Hank reached across the desk in his office and grabbed out a microphone which he switched to speaker mode to play the recording. The Legends listened intently as the conversation played out. They were hearing Randy Sharpe ask for proof of life, the long pause and then that crack in the background with the female voice instantly cry out in pain. At the end of the recording Sara asked if the voice of the female was confirmed as Ava's voice. Hank said the Director confirmed it was Ava. "We found Ava's car at the Sleepaway Inn this morning in Star City, she checked in at 1900 last night but hasn't been seen since. The caller has given us 48 hours to arrange release for the exchange and will call back with the details of when and where the trade is to take place."

"Sara I'll send over everything we have on Eobard Thawne and what we have so far on Ra's Al Ghul. We only recently discovered that Ghul has a business in Nanda Parbot. We are checking for any flights in and out of Star City that may have some connection to this. You'll also have access to satellite feeds, and anything else you might need access to, I've already given approval for." Sara checked the time, it was 0855 hrs, "Mr Heywood, I'll call you at 1000 hrs and brief you on what we have. We'll get her back Hank." Sarah turned to her crew, "Zari you have access to everything, start with Ava's movements. Charlie, I need you to check the satellite feeds for the airport at Nanda Parbot. Nate do some digging on Eobard Thawne and his connection to Ghul. Ray, I need you to go over that recording with a fine-tooth comb and see if there is anything in the background to indicate where they have her. Mick you do what you do." "Yes boss," Mick replied sitting on the couch with a beer in his hand.

Zari was tapping away frantically on the computer and Charlie was looking at images from the satellite feeds in Nanda Parbot. "Sara, I think I've found something here. There's no record of any flights in and out of the airport in Nanda Parbot but on the satellite feed there's a private jet touching down in the freight terminals." Zari brought up the footage on the big screen for Sara to watch. "It looks like there are a couple of CCTV cameras on these cargo hangars, I can hack into their CCTV feed and bring that up." A minute later the Legends were watching the footage from the cameras of a private jet come to a stop on the tarmac near several cargo planes. Two men and a woman disembarked with one of the men carrying what appeared to be another person slumped over their shoulder. The men put the woman into a black sedan and left. The other woman who disembarked from the jet was picked up by another car and left the airport. Her face could not be seen as she was wearing a hat and glasses.

Although the footage was grainy, they could tell the person being carried was a woman, a blonde woman wearing a bureau suit. "That's Ava, Charlie see if you can follow that car to where they took her. Zari, try to clean up that footage and run facial recognition on the men. Nate, I need you to research the airport and surrounds and how we get in without raising suspicion. Once we know where Ava's been taken, we'll need to know every square inch of that area. Mick, you and I will start planning out her rescue."
