Chapter 1 -

TILLY
The sun was shining down on me as I was walking through the streets of Surrey. Fresh from Canada, I was currently aimlessly walking around the streets of England, my eyes fighting the jet lag that felt like superglue trying to keep them shut.
It was the classic story of moving because your Dad got a better job offer. Except it wasn't my Dad. It was my cousin. Now I know what you're going to say, you shouldn't really move halfway across the world just for your cousin, well, I would. See, he was all I really had left genetically.
I never met my biological family, they could have died in a car crash, or my parents could have just given me away at birth. I have no idea. So back in Canada, I live with my foster family.
They may not be linked with me through blood, but they are the best family I could ever ask for. The thing I will miss most about Canada would have to be my foster brothers Grayson and Noah. Sometimes they could be a pain in the ass, but at the end of the day they were not only my brothers but my best friends.
I particularly bonded with Noah, although I had a great bond with both of them. Noah and I were the same age, only separated by five days. We were 'those' kind of people that got along so well that we had plans for the rest of our lives together. Our personalities just matched in a way that kept that bond strong.
"Oh- I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to-" I heard the thick Monégasque accent that I couldn't ever mistake, roll of his tongue. I didn't even realise our shoulders and collided as I was so caught up in my thoughts.
"Charles Leclerc." I smirked, as I looked up at his beautiful clear wide eyes. Charles was significantly taller than me, so I had to nearly strain my neck as I looked into his eyes, and he looked into mine.
A soft smile found its way onto his lips as he glanced at my face in what seemed like awe. "Ottilie. God I haven't seen you in forever, yet you still are the beautiful girl I remember." Charles returned my playful smirk.
"And you are still the cute boy if I remember correctly." I smiled right back at him.
Yeah maybe Charles and I knew each other once upon a time. It was a long story.
"Cute, handsome, I'd like to think they're the same thing." Charles chuckled. If I'm being honest, anyone with eyes could tell he was actually quite attractive.
"You are a tall glass of water Charles," I rolled my eyes as Charles' smile widened. His ego clearly never got smaller. "So, what happened to living the perfect life in Monaco?"
"I'm still living there, I'm just here for my job. I'm also visiting a friend." He was very vague with his answer, but that was okay. Of course I knew Charles was a Formula One driver, and I don't doubt the information he is telling me.
"Well, that's nice." I awkwardly pursed my lips together, not one hundred percent sure how to continue this conversation. Charles and I haven't conversed, let alone even seen each other in years, so of course it was going to be at least a little bit awkward.
"Yeah, well I've got to go now, but we have a lot to catch up on now that we're finally in the same place, so hopefully I'll see you around?" Charles sent a hopeful glance my way as he started walking backwards to what I could only assume was his car.
"Yes, of course, I'll see you around." It would actually be very nice to catch up with Charles, ever since that summer I've always wondered what my life would have been like if we had stayed in contact, the thought always had a place in the back of my mind.
