Chapter 5 -»»-------------¤-------------««
TILLY
"You can sit here today." The last time I went to any type of sporting event or venue, I always just placed myself in the middle of the crowd, making sure I wasn't necessarily spotted or standing out. Unknown, just how I liked it.
However, this time I was at my very first Formula One race, and after a long heated argument between the boys, they reluctantly decided I would end up sitting in the McLaren garage. Which again, led to another argument between Lando and Carlos on which side of the garage I would be watching the race from.
"Honestly Lan, I can stand in the grandstands with the fans." I fidgeted with the all access pass that was hanging around my neck. We had talked about it on the phone last night, but his mind hadn't changed. He wants me to stand in the garage.
"Tilly, we have been tweeting each other back and forth for more than three weeks now. Fans recognise you as my friend. We just want you to be able to enjoy the show without being asked a million questions." After the first week of knowing them, George somehow manages to track down my social media, and as a result all the boys followed me, leading to fun banter in comments that got some fans questions about who I was, and making ridiculous assumptions.
Not that I minded, I just wish I had a bit more privacy. I can't say that I haven't noticed their fans taking extreme notice of me. They want an inside scoop on the boys, and they think they can get it through me. I swear if I get one more friend request, my phone will explode.
Plus, it doesn't help that everyday there is a new rumour that I'm dating one of them, which I'm not.
"Maybe I don't want to watch your race." I jokingly sasses the boy I have grown close to in the last three weeks. I'm close with the other four, especially Charles who had become like a Noah 2.0 to me. I never realised how much Noah and Charles were alike until Charles came over to help me with my homework, and Hayden pointed it out. I may talk to Lando nonstop all day (and every night on the phone) but Charles had quickly become a best friend to me. All of the boys have.
"No more hanging out with Alex for you." Lando put his arm around my shoulder and spun us around towards the pit lane and further, the track. "I get to race over there in two hours." He grinned and I put my arm around his waist to make it a bit more comfortable.
One day he's going to be a world champion, all of them are at some point, and not just racing in the midfield. Or in George's case, the back of the pack.
"You do, don't suck." I teased. Of course his racing wasn't going to suck, I mean, come on it's Lando we're talking about here.
"Ha-ha, dick." He pushed me away from him with a grin on his face. "I can't believe I really get to race over there." He pulled out his phone and took a picture of the track. The track is a lot bigger, and a lot longer than it looks in pictures or on the television, but I know Lando will perform a great race. He's practiced hard and I know he's dedicated to doing his best.
"Hey, stand in front of it and I'll take your picture." I took his phone out of his hands and he ran to pose letting his giddiness for today's race run wild.
"Say my racing sucks!" Carlos called from the other side of the garage.
"Carlos sucks dick!" Lando shouted and Carlos struck a pose in the background making for a 'normal' teammate photo.
"If you don't put this on Instagram, I'm going to be offended." I laughed and handed him back his fancy phone, noticing when his fingers brushed up against mine. I have gotten used to taking pictures of the boys doing stupid things together. Usually I just steal lindos phone and he finds the picture eventually.
