The mother closed her book. "What did you think of it?"

Her daughter stared up at her with shining eyes. "Do you think it's real?"

"Of course not," the mother said. "It's just a story. Now time for bed. You've stayed up late enough as it is."

"Alright!" her daughter chirped. "Tell me tomorrow!"

The mother watched her daughter sleep peacefully. Little did the four-year-old girl know, the legend of the kingdoms was not a legend, but a story.

The mother's family lived east of the kingdoms. The mother herself and her daughter's father had both been living in the Hikari Kingdom, desperate to leave and travel the world with their group of nomads.

But a week into it, the mother realized her heart wasn't into traveling. She preferred the safety and comfort of a home, and so she built a little hut. The father had left with the nomads, gone into the sun. The mother still missed him sometimes.

Some other nomads that had decided to stop lived with her. They created a small village, not too far from the Kurosu Kingdoms, but far enough that the next few generations may not even know about each other.

The mother flipped through her favorite book, the very story she had been reading to her daughter. The cover was soft and worn. It was a bright gold and white color, with the title emblazoned on it in black.

Nostalgia flooded through her. She had mentioned by name her son in the book she wrote for her daughter. And she would miss her adopted sister, queen of the Hikari Kingdom. Sadness would be held deep in her heart forever.

But she would never look back.

Sequel coming up! Skyfall will be part two, and it will take place in the five years between Requiem's defeat and Zac leaving to camp.
