"Dr. Wei." His voice is soft as he greets me in his baritone voice.
"Mr. Lan." Giving him my dimple smile I enquire, "To what do I owe this pleasure of meeting you again?"
With an impassive face his eyes peer into my soul, "I am waiting for you."
"...
Clutching my heart I take a deep breath. Fuck that was intense. You did well Wangji. You did well.
"Is everything alright Mr. Lan?" Uncle Tee questions and I nod, "Please drive us back to the office. Have a darn meeting." Smiling at me from the rareview mirror he drives us away, but all my thoughts were back on the man to whom I just proposed.
Will he accept?
I hope he does.

"Wangji," greeting me at the other end was brother and uncle.
"Wow, are we expecting someone?" I jest with them at the amount of food on the dinning table.
"Well having you here finally is a moment for us to feast." At my uncle's taunt XiChen grins and I groan, "Sorry. Sorry. I'll be home more often."
Patting my back uncle gestures me to take the first morsel of food when he suddenly mentions, "By the way, Dr. Han just called me up very casually to congratulate me on my nephew's wedding."
I cough out my food and from my peripheral vision could see my brother laughing his ass out.
"Uncle-"
"When is the wedding?" With an impassive face he questions but witnessing his eyes crinkle I immediately knew he's pulling my leg.
With a sigh I answer, "Hopefully whenever Wei Wuxian accepts my proposal."
At that both of them promptly look at me and brother questions, "What?"
With a soft smile I explain to them the entire story of how we met and how I was introduced to Sora.
"He has a daughter?" Uncle enquires and I nod.
"You have no issues?" At his persistence I look up and shrug, "Why should I? You weren't that old either when you took up the responsibility of raising brother and me. Uncle, I am glad that you have always been there for us. Agreed that at young age when you decided to send me to States, I wasn't too happy, but you did what you thought was best for us.
"Wei Wuxian reminds me of you and Sora's such a sweetheart. Uncle, brother, last night she came upto me and said 'If having me around is going to be a problem I'll go back to my aunty'. How can I separate such a sweet family? Looking at them, I wanted to be a part of their world. For reasons unknown, I yearned to be with them last night. Not wanting leave and if I had to, then wished to go back to that warmth. I always wanted to have a life partner, someone like him. Now I got him. I got them."
Silence engulfs us and it was uncle's words that melts my heart, "Bring Wei Wuxian home this weekend. XiChen and I would like to meet him," raising his gaze uncle continues "I would like to meet Sora too. She is going to be a part of this family, she needs to know that in this world, she has a grand uncle and young uncle."
