The Last Ball

The Last Day of School

A/N: Remember!  This is SIX MONTHS later!  Keep that in your mind!

Harry had finally gotten over me and went out with Rachelle again.  It turns out they had a serious relationship last year.

"Good morning babe," Zayn greeted me.

"Good morning."

"New outfit?"

"It is.  Like it?"

"Yep.  Ready for breakfast."

"Yeah, just let me go get something."

"Okay, I'll be here."

I ran up the stairs to get something.  What was it?  A picture of us together when we were 7.

"I've kept this since that day.  I don't know if you remember, but you give this to me for my 7th brithday."

"Of course I remember this!" he said with a huge grin on his face.

"I love it."

"I thought you would."

We walked to the Great Hall.  Ravenclaw had won the House Cup.  That's a first.

"Want anything to drink?"

"Lemon and berry smoothie.  Thanks!"

He came back with it, but something else in his hand too.

"What's that?"

"A gift."

"Really?  Then what is it?"

"Something."

"Thanks.  Now seriously what is it."

He gave it to me.

Written on it it said:

Unfold; I did so

I love you; I smiled 

Open up once more; I unfolded it once more

Nothing.  Nothing was there.

I looked up and Zayn was on one knee.

"McKenna, I have been planning this day since I noticed how beautiful you were."

I was crying.

"I know it's only been six months, but let's make it forever.  Will you marry me?" his eyes began to fill with tears.

"Yes!" I said kissing him.

I couldn't believe this!  The boy of my dreams since I was 8 is now my fiance!  How crazy is that!?

We conitnued our breakfast and I couldn't help, but smile the entire time!

We were in love and it was noticable.

"Jonny!  Did you hear?!"

"McKenna the entire school knows; even Dumbledore!"

"Oh, that's kinda awkward."

 "Yeah, but congradulations!  I remember when we thought we would get married."

"Yeah, I haven't thought about that in a long time.  But now Zayn!  I mean, we've known each other for years!"

"I'm really happy for you."

"Thanks.  I hope we stay in contact over the summer.

"Annabelle, of all people; it's Zayn Malik."

"I am just- there aren't words to describe how happy I am."

"Congrats!  You two will live happily ever after."

"Thanks for thinking so."

"I wonder how Harry is."

"Well why don't you ask him?"

"I don't know.  It'd be awkward."

"Go ask him.  He's right there."

I walked over to him and asked"

"Hey Harry."

"McKenna!  I'm so happy for you!  You two are adorable!  I'm just so happy!"

"Oh, well that answers my question."

"Can I be in the wedding party?"

"Zayn will have to decided that."

Dumbledore is saying his end-of-the-year speech.  It was so boring.

Zayn and I actually snuck out.

He passed me a note.

Let's sneak out; if someone asked you're using the bathroom

I wrote back:

Okay :)

We left and then met up in the Charms Classroom's hallway.

"Babe, you look beautiful," complimenting me on my new outfit.  Strapless floral dress with a brown rope belt and gold flats.

"Thanks."

"You're welcome.  Now," he started.  "Our parents already know, but we can't be married when we're sixteen."

"Seventeen."

"Maybe."

We talked more about being engaged until we thought his speech was over.

"Where have you two been!?" Professor McGonagall said sternly.

"We got lost on our way back," I lied.

"Well, I think you should know this castle by now Ms. Logans.  You've been here 6 years."

"Sorry, Professor.  It was my fault.  I thought I knew a short cut," Zayn covered up for me.

"Anywho, congradulations you two."

We smiled and took our seats.

"Where have you been?" Elizabeth asked.

"Strolling around the school."

"Thank you staff members for helping make this school year amazing.  Now, let us dine!"  Dumbledore ended his speech.

"Yum!" Niall said staring at all the food.

We ate, laughed, talked, and Zayn and I kissed twice.

"Good-bye students!  Have a nice summer!  See you next year!"

We made our way out, but Zayn stopped me.  Zayn stared into my eyes and said:

"McKenna I love you.  And I have since I was 10.  Never forget I am here for you," he said passionately.

We kissed.

We were getting on the train.  Walking hand in hand with Zayn.

"Baby, I love you."

"I love you too, Zayn."

We were about to get on the train for our ride home.
