I thought of this whilst I was looking up at the stars. The video also goes with the song and it gives a sense of nostalgia. It's from the 1900's and one of my favourites. This is more of a drabble/poem I thought of. I am a twat, and I'm selfish.

~ Eternal Souls ~
Looking out into the black
I see them
Stars; gallons of burning light
So close and so distant
As if I could reach and touch
And amongst them, I see you, Phil
The brightest, shining
Swirling and restless
Calling out to me, beckoning
Seeking my attention once more
A warm and friendly hello
Like your smile in my memories
And photographs
Yet so cold and far
Distant and unreachable
And so every night
I resume the onlooking
Of me gazing up at you
Crashing waves of euphoria; unexplainable
We were together again.
I would meet you from dusk to dawn
Your twinkle matches your eyes
It really does.
And so every night, since the past
I thought how our souls would last
And they will.
So I waited
And waited
Millions of minutes going by
Until my last moment.
The swaying grass around me
The meadow was silent
My last breath was taken
My heart stopped.
I looked up at you,
No longer a burning sphere of gas.
You are here.
Embracing me.
The raging flame was ignited once more
It had flickered out when your eyes
Had glazed over
And your last words and thoughts
"I love you, Dan."
My tears carried grief and sorrow
My pain and agony
We were so young, Phil.
You left me.
But we are again in each other's arms
Rejoicing
That familiar feeling of home
And safety
Was returned again
Our souls will be eternal, and our flame will never be put out, as long as we have each other.
We are together now, and that's all that really matters.
We are eternal souls, fuelled by each other.
We will be forever young, forever more.
