Recall: "You are mine, Dezirae." He says from behind me. This time it sounds more like a promise than a threat.

"Only in your dreams, Elijah." I comment, and with that I walk back up the stairs.

As I close the door behind me I try to think of another way out. I won't stay here, especially if he's sleeping with other women. I lock the door, and consider the window. Would I survive the jump down? It's three floors up, so most likely not. Is there something that I can use to climb down?

I walk over to the window, and see that the roof belonging to the back patio reaches about half way between the first and second floor. That I could probably make, but it's also slanted. Knowing me I would most likely break my ankle on the way down. I'll keep this option as a possibility.

I look back over at the bed, and a thought comes to mind. A couple of months ago Jasmine and I were watching A Dog's Purpose where an actor uses a set of sheets to lower his mom, and his dog to the lawn during a fire. I could try this method, but instead of someone else holding it I could tie the sheets to the bed post. Would it reach far enough?

Let's find out. I have to hurry because Elijah could come in here at any moment. I strip the bed, and grab the sheets, and the mattress cover. Tying them together I pull as hard as I can at both ends to see if it will hold. Next, I tie them to the bed post. As I drag the tied sheets to the window I can tell that it won't reach the roof. Now completely frustrated I hurry to untie the sheets from each other, and the bed post. I remake the bed, so Elijah won't know what I have tried. I roll me eyes, and think that's the last argument I want to have right now. Is there another escape route?

I look around to see if maybe there is another window, or something else I can use to aid in my escape. I'm in the bathroom when the door knob clicks open. I hear footsteps, and get ready for another argument with Elijah. However, the person that steps in surprises me.

It's Jasmine. Ugh, of course. Traitor. She looks at me apologetically, and starts to cry. "I'm so sorry, D."

I want nothing more than to comfort her, but what she did was unforgivable. She chose a man over me. Whatever happened to hoes before bros? Instead I cross my arms, and lean back against the shower. "Why did you stop me?"

"Our world isn't like the human world. If I disobey Elijah I could be severely punished, locked away in the dungeon, or even worse.... He's my Alpha, and I can't just disobey him. Not to mention there's the whole werewolf loyalty aspect."

"What about your loyalty to me, Jasmine?" I yell back at her. How could she?

"Werewolf loyalty is stronger than my loyalty to you. It's engraved in my blood. My loyalty is to the pack.. to my Alpha... and now even to you. As my queen I would do anything for you, except go against my king." She answers without any hint of regret.

"I didn't think bringing you into the bar would have caused this." She continues. "We went to that bar so many times, and then the one night the Alpha comes in... it was like you two were magnets. Like fate decided to align everything perfectly so that you two would meet. Remember how everything seemed to go right? We were even ready on time for once." She laughs. I think back to that night, and she is right. Getting ready, no line out front when we arrived, and even though there was a line our group was always served first. We had a flat tire on the way, and even that was a quick and easy fix. I stay where I'm at, and try my hardest to remain angry. She still betrayed me.
