(more into the backstory)
—-
There came a disease.
It started as a common cold, but after contracting it, your skin would start changing color, your eyes would bulge out, your fingers would dislocate themselves, and so on.Eventually, you would lose a free train of thought, the mind being overcome by the infection.
Soon enough, the only thing you would be is a walking corpse.
Or so they say.
No one actually has any idea where it came from, or what happens to your brain when you change.
It's all speculation.
But, most people would ignore the cognitive section of it and just kill the people who have the virus.
But if you get scratched, bitten, or harmed in any way by the 'beings,' there is no current way to prevent it, so you just have to accept death.
When the plague first started its voyage across the continents, the existence of the Kuruta Clan was brought to light.
Their eyes glow a bright scarlet when emotional, boosting their strength immensely.
But, due to the circumstances, people began to fear them, afraid that if they gained the illness when their eyes were red, they would become exceptionally harder to defeat compared to the 'regular' people.
So, a small group of 13 who called themselves "The Genei Ryodan" decided to take the issue into their own hands.
And that meant eradicating the Kuruta Clan.
Little did they know, just six weeks before the massacre, a young child, hair blond and eyes a deep cerulean, from the clan was allowed release from their small community to explore the world, unaware of the current sickness plaguing the world.
While exploring dangerously, he heard a rumor that The Genei Ryodan had killed all 128 people in the Kuruta Clan.
After listening to that, he immediately set on his way back home, only hoping that his family would be fine, that it was just a not-very-funny joke.
It was not.
Their dead bodies were littered everywhere, crimson blood staining every wall in sight. You wouldn't have been able to walk 5 feet in front of you without seeing blood.
But as he looked around, he soon realized something.
The Genei Ryodan had taken the liberty to scoop out his clan's Scarlet Eyes, just for the fun of it.
Nobody was spared, everybody had severe wounds, nobody had their eyes remain, everybody was slaughtered for the sake of selfish desires under the guise of 'protection.'
Nobody but him survived.
The event did a number on his mental health, fillings his thoughts with revenge and pain.
He has multiple restless nights burying his brethren, and more sleepless nights filled with nightmares of the small village burning to the ground, his people screaming in fear and anger as the Genei Ryodan slaughtered everyone ruthlessly.
He was going to track each of the members who orchestrated the mass murder of his people and kill them. One by one, they would fall by his hands.
Unless, of course, they end up killing him first, but there wasn't any way he was going to allow that to happen.
Ever.
And so began his adventures into the unknown, finally grasping the crisis the world was going through.
He had started to carry a spare weapon under his torn-up tabard alongside his knife he keeps on hand at all times.
He gained stealth and fighting skills, growing extremely agile, probably rivaling those strongest before the chaos broke out. He very rarely had to put those skills to use, however, as he seldomly ran into infected victims while scavenging for medication and supplies.
The few situations in which he would have to fight usually ended in approximately 11.47 seconds, with the events taking place during them being:
1. Getting over the initial shock and hesitation
2. Slitting their throat
3. making sure their head is removed from the body, and
4. Mourning their death.
Yeah, pretty sad.
Somewhere along his journey, he met 3 friends, Gon, Killua, and Leorio.
Gon has messy green hair, hazel eyes, and wore a dirty neon-green jacket that matched his shorts and boots.
Killua has fluffy silver hair, blue eyes, and a white t-shirt with a blue undershirt combined with dim purple shorts.
Leorio is tall, has short black hair, brown eyes, and always wore a torn blue suit that honestly didn't match his stature. They stuck with him until they had to split paths, Gon attempting to find his father, Killua joining Gon, Leorio trying to get into a medical group, and him, aiming to complete his vengeance against who have grown to be known as ruthless monsters, killing even innocent people they stumble across.
Currently, his 2 youngest friends had been trained in the usage of Nen by somebody named "Wing," while he had been trained by someone named "Izunavi."
He had fallen under the Nen category of "Conjuration," where he could materialize his Nen into a physical object.
He chose Chains, so he could chain the monsters who murdered his family to Hell.
When he spoke of that to his master, he had figured out that when his eyes turned scarlet, he was a "Specialist."
He used his newfound discoveries to his advantage, making every condition placed on himself to further aid in his goal of revenge against the Genei Ryodan.
He had multiple abilities, consisting of:
Dowsing Chain- the ability to tell locations and uncover untruths in somebodies speaking;
Judgment Chain- the ability to plant a chain into somebodies heart, make a condition, and if the person breaks the condition, the chain will crush their heart; (can only use when in Specialist State)
Chain Jail- the ability to restrict movement and Aura by constricting its target in an almost unbreakable chain; (can only be used on the Genei Ryodan)
Steal Chain- the ability to borrow somebody's Hatsu until used; (Can only be used in Specialist State, only able to use someone else ability once)
Holy Chain- the ability to heal exterior injuries; (strengthened during Specialist state to even broken bones)
Stealth Dolphin- the side-ability to Steal Chain, allowing him to "equip" his borrowed power or pass the power to somebody else; (is stuck in his Specialist state until he or somebody else uses the borrowed ability) and,
Emperor Time- the ability where (in his Specialist state) he can access all categories of Nen to the maximum. (Every second spent using this ability, one hour is stripped off of his life.)
He had been hired as a guard for a Safe-Haven for survivors by the Nostrad family, who had been previously known for the daughter's fortune-telling abilities. They soon rose to riches and stature in the mafia community, and he believes working here will bring him one step closer to exacting revenge on the Genei Ryodan.
And so, he stepped into the deserted city of York Shin with his chin up and back straight, the chains on his right hand laying dormant by his side, and with fresh determination set into his heart and mind.
