Just like in high school.

Y/N POV

After the long tickle session Karl had put me though, I finally got to sit up. Despite my hurting stomach and shortness of breath, I effortlessly propped myself against the arm of the couch. My head fell back as the last of my breathy laughs escaped my throat.

I felt the cushions sink as Karl sat next to me on the couch. I slowly lifted my head and giggled at his flushed cheeks. My cheeks were equally as pink, but I was also just getting tickled.

As both of our faces started returning to normal, I got a stupid idea. I stretched my legs out over his lap and smiled as I watched Karl's face heat up again. When his eyes darted to my face, I just looked back at him like I normally would.

I popped a smile at him and pulled my phone out of my pocket. I looked down at the screen and started scrolling through Twitter, just seeing what was happening.

When I put my legs on his lap I expected him to ask me to move them or just move them himself, but he didn't. He just sat there, eventually letting his hand rest on my shin. I thought he was the easily flustered one, oh how the tables have turned.

I continued to scroll, trying to cover my face from Karl's sight with my phone. I felt his hand slowly and softly run up and down my shin through my sweatpants.

Great, that will definitely help the blush happening right now.

His hand was so gentle on my leg, it honestly felt so nice. A small grin unknowingly creeped onto my lips, which I'm pretty sure Karl noticed. His hand stopped and he started rubbing circles into the side of my calf with his thumb.

I pulled the hoodie I had threw on over the bottom half of my face to hide my blush. I put my phone down on my chest and allowed my eyes to drift up to Karl's soft features.

When his eyes met mine, I could feel the slight heat in my cheeks start burning. His lips curled into a small smile. I smiled as well, but it was hard to tell because half my face was covered.

"Do you wanna actually get up and do something today?" Karl asked, his hand pausing on my leg.

I groaned internally. "I would love to, but I'm pretty comfortable here." I said.

"So am I. Very comfortable, in fact, but we have to get up eventually." He insisted.

"Eventually isn't now though. We can stay here for a bit longer." I dropped the hoodie from my face and closed my eyes tightly like I was trying to force myself to sleep.

Karl looked at my expression and laughed. "What are you doing Y/N?" he asked.

I turned on my side and kept my eyes closed. "If I'm asleep you legally can't get up. I'm like a cat. One move and I'm up."

"That's not how that worked out last night." He chuckled. "I moved you multiple times last night and you barely made a sound."

"Well that's different. I was tired from my flight and it was late, of course I was dead asleep." I blushed.

"Whatever you wanna tell yourself sweetheart" He chuckled and leaned forward to grab the remote off of the coffee table.

And just like that, my hoodie went back over my face. Goddammit, this man made me feel so whole.

When Karl sat up again he opened his arms wide, wordlessly beckoning me to come closer. I complied, sitting up properly and scooting closer to him. I eventually got up to a point where my thighs were overlapping his and one of his arms wrapped around my shoulders.

I took a deep breath in, taking in Karl's natural and calming scent. My eyes fluttered shut, not in a tired way, more just... peaceful. That's right. Peaceful.

I let my hoodie drop down off my cheeks, not caring if I was still red or not. As I opened my eyes again I saw Karl, remote in hand, flipping through different movies and shows on Netflix.

My eyes switched between his face and the screen as he searched for something to watch until he landed on a random comedy special. I watched as the small preview as it played on the screen in front of us.

"Do you wanna watch this?" Karl motioned to the TV and then looked down at me.

I just nodded quietly and leaned back into his shoulder. As the special started, I felt Karl's arm pull my torso closer to him. After a little, I felt a pressure on the back of my head.

After a minute I realized Karl had buried the bottom half of his face in my hair while he has watching, which made my face turn pink.

We finished the comedy special an hour later. Me and Karl had a couple good laughs during it, but it was mostly chill.

I thought about what Karl had said earlier about actually going out and doing something today, and decided it was actually a kind of good idea.

I turned my head to look up at him for a moment before I opened my lips to speak.

"Hey, I thought about getting up and doing something, and I have decided it might actually be worth while." I laughed at him.

His eyes connected with mine as he chuckled. "Oh yeah, where do you wanna go exactly?"

"Do you know if that arcade at the mall we went to in high school is still open?" I asked, trying my best to remember the place.

"Yeah, it actually is. It's not the exact same because they got new games and stuff, but yeah." He nodded.

"Do you wanna go? I can run upstairs and get ready really quick or something." I asked, attempting to sit up properly.

Karl simply shook his head no and wrapped his arm around me tighter, to stop me from fully standing up.

     "You look fine"
