Shirabu immediately an towards his mate and best friend after recovering from the shock. Ushijima and the others joined as well to fight and protect them. All the aggressive scents made Shiro's own scent sour the air even more. Semi changed his to a calming one to prevent him dropping. It had little to no effect. He slipped out and curled up on the ground shaking and whimpering wanting to make it stop. Awase stepped forward to reach for him but was suddenly punched by Semi out of nowhere.
"Stay away from him you bastard!"
He was about to punch back when Goshiki came and kicked Awase in the stomach. This gave Semi enough time to pick up Shiro and bring him to the safety of the gym. He stayed inside while Goshiki and the others fought. Coach Washijo came to his assistance concerned with what happened.
"Coach! The tennis team cornered Shiro and I caught him running away. They tried to hurt him. I think Ushijima is fighting with them."
"I see, stay here. I'm going to find to find their coach and stop this."
He stood up and jogged over where the fights were happening. The boys' tennis coach was already there confused and attempting to de-escalate the situation before someone got killed. Washijo arrived and helped him separate the snarling alphas with help from ther club advisors who smelled the danger in the air.
It wasn't working and some of the advisors got accidentally punched so everyone backed away. They'd have to try a different approach. Semi saw them struggle and had an idea but it counted on Shiro. He'd calmed down and confused as to how he ended up in the gym. Semi saw this and explained his idea to make them stop. He agreed and Semi helped him up and they went over.
Ushijima picked up another player by the collar when a small hand grabbed the back of his jersey and soft voice spoke up. He turned and saw Shiro holding the jersey. He was looking up at him with concern.
"Don't kill him Wakatoshi. Papa said you'll go to jail for killing people."
"I'm not going to waste my energy on his death. Awase and I are going to have a small chat is all. Why don't you go back inside with Tendou and the others? It won't take long."
"Okay."
Ushijima ordered Tendou, Goshiki and everyone to go back inside with Shiro. It took some convincing and glaring but they reluctantly left. Now he turned his full attention to the alpha scum in his hands. His eyes flowed with fury at the thought of what would've happened if Semi hadn't found him. Time to set things straight.
"Tamaki Awase, do you know who my father works for? The Ice Dragons which his grandfather is the head of. When he finds out what you almost did to Shiro, you will suffer fates worse than death. Be grateful I've decided not to crush your neck and end your pathetic existence. I don't want to upset Shiro. If I ever see you upset another omega, I will not be as generous as I am today."
Awase looked ahead and saw the small boy surrounded by the tall and protective members. He looked at Ushijima and scowled. Clearly not taking the threat seriously, Ushijima dropped him and he left vowing revenge and taking the boy as his prize. He returned to check on everyone and any injuries they may have. Some scrapes and bruises but nothing serious thankfully. Shiro stood up from the bench and walked over worries about him.
"You didn't kill him did you?"
"No."
"Thank you.."
Coach Washijo came over to them with the coach from the boys' tennis team. He didn't look happy but dragged his feet over. It seemed Washijo was making him apologize to his players for bothering them. He intended for Shiro to be apologized to but that'd never happen. Omegas were always seen as the cause of an issue or problem and alphas refused to admit they were in the wrong. This was the next best thing however, Volleyball was the academy's main way of reaching out to incoming students to get them to try and join. Thus the principal is more lenient with the team. He could've cared less that the tennis coach was forced to say sorry.
"I believe your players and you owe us an apology."
".... Please forgive my team for their actions. I can reassure you it won't happen again."
"Apology accepted sir."
They all watched him leave. Ushijima and the alphas tried to steady their breathing and rein in the scents causing the omegas great distress. Semi nuzzled Shirabu's neck and hugged him tightly, shaking a little at how his mate was in close proximity with Awase. Shirabu forgot his scent blockers so if he smelled that he was an omega, they were done for. School rules favored alphas above betas and omegas. Like, if an alpha raped or assaulted an omega faculty staff blamed it on the omega for not being more careful. Or that they "purposely" lured an alpha and so on. It's bad there but Ushijima said he'd look out for them. His mind always flashed back to Shiro and he saw his face on the scared omegas. Thankfully they weren't bothered as much now.
Semi still remembered when Shirabu confessed to him and told the enire team that he was an omega. It was shocking but Ushijima reminded them that he was still a member and should be treated equally as always. They were extra vigilant around him especially Semi now that they're dating. It was two weeks when he confessed and was comforting to know that the team and coach supported him.
Shiro wanted nothing more to return home and get out of his damp kimono so he rest with his dad and prepare for tomorrow. He felt guilty that this all happened because of him. Mumbling about the bento containers he walked back to the vending machines where he dropped them. It was pouring at this point but he didn't care. Holding them tightly he ran out of the academy, not even saying bye and went straight home sobbing.
It was Goshiki who realized Shiro had been gone for quite a while. He alerted everyone and in a panic, they ran around the nearby areas because he couldn't have gone far in this torrential downpour. Semi went straight for the vending machines since he remembered that's where he went earlier. Eventually they came back wet and worried.
"I'll text him!" Goshiki
-Shiratorizawa Chat-
Goshiki: hey Shiro where r you at?
Shiro: Sorry. I went home early.
Goshiki: In the rain? You'll catch a cold!
Shiro: I won't, I'm getting a bath ready so I'll see you tomorrow. Is everyone okay?
Goshiki: Yea. Don't worry about it. Bye.
Shiro: Bye Tsutomu.
He turned off his phone and relayed Shiro's message to them. Everyone slowly calmed down. Washijo closed his eyes and breathed deeply. Today certainly turned out to be stressed and concerning. He made a mental note to keep an eye on the boys' tennis coach and team. Opening them he clapped his hands and made everyone go home. The omegas prepared their overnight bags for the weekend cuddle. They all lived various distances from each other but somehow Shiro's home was never far away.
