"I have to kill him, or he's going to kill me"
_____________
FEBRUARY HAD ARRIVED, AND the snow left over from Christmas had melted. Hogwarts was enveloped by grey skies and a constant state of rain, making the grounds slippery and muddy.
Notices had been posted in every common room, asking any Sixth Years whether they wanted to take their Apparition lessons, for the small price of twelve galleons. Asteria tried to focus on the dusty hoop in front of her, but found herself trying not to laugh when she saw Ernie Macmillan focusing so hard on his hoop, that his face was a deep magenta.
"Step two, focus your determination to occupy the visualised space! Let your yearning to enter it flood from your kind to every particle of your body!"
She tried thinking of the interior of her hoop only, but her stomach growled loudly, and she found her mind drifting to what she would have for dinner.
"Step three, and only when I give the command... turn on the spot, feeling your way into nothingness, moving with deliberation! On my command, now... one-"
