"Please Sho...tell me what's wrong..."

The older male spoke gently, hands fidgeting with concern. It was normal for the younger to hide his emoutions, but seeing him like this made Natsuo shiver. A cold, wavy, shiver. It vibrated down his spine as he felt something snap inside him. Like a rope.

Why did he ignore his brothers sudden change in behaviour?

Why did he choose, to yet again, turn his head?

Why does he not pay attention?

Why is he such a horrible brother? He is supposed to protect shoto, from others and himself. And he can't even do that.
How pathetic.

Shaking his head slightly, Natsuo directed his attention on his little brother, feeling guilty for putting his own self doubt before shoto's. He found it funny. No, hilarious that he is still, yet again, is putting himself before shoto.

"Sho-?"

Natsuo edged on, bringing his brother tighter against his chest but still giving him room to pull away, which, surprisingly, he hasn't. Yet.

"Da-- Touya. He.....I...."

Shoto paused.
The surroundings was quiet, nothing other than the occasional rustle of the wind rustling the autumn leaves and the small, gentle breathes of his younger brother beside him.

"I just....It is just my fault. F-for everything...."

"How so?"

Natsuo challenged. Normally, the older male wouldn't have pushed past the limits, he knows the last thing he wants to do is make his little brother uncomfortable. But....It's just been going on for so long....his baby brother clearly isn't okay and has something on his mind. And, as his older brother, It's his job to help.

"It's just my f-fault...."

Natsuo frowned as he tugged at shoto's locks, god, he wished Fuyumi was here. She's way easier at reaching shoto as well as, most of all, comforting him.

"Your fault for what--?"

"Dad"

...

Wait what?

Natsuo thought as he rendered about how on earth shoto blamed himself for that sick twisted bastard. Where the hell did he get that idea from?!

Nudging his brother gently, Natsuo faced him, looking him in his multicolored eyes. He stared at them for a moment, admiring their beauty, before snapping back into reality, cracking a slight frown.

"Now...what makes you think that?"

I mean sure, when shoto was born that was when most of the shit came in, but it wasn't his fault. Never. He's the victim in this, he doesn't have to apologise or take the blame for something that he didn't do or couldn't prevent.

How long has this been bearing on shoto's mind? How did he not realise?

"T-touya said..."

Natsuo exhaled in annoyance. He loves touya, really does. But he loves Touya, not Dabi.

Touya wouldn't say anything to shoto that would upset him, Touya was caring, thoughtful and selfless. He wasn't dark and brooding, mean or toxic.

He wanted Touya back. Not Dabi. But that's a bit selfish isn't it?

"N-nothing wouldn't of had happened if I didn't exist and t-that he turned out this way because I followed dad's ideology like a useless puppet...."

Three words.

What.
The.
Fuck.

Natsuo bit his lip drawing blood, the crimson, thick, liquid tasted metallic, he cringed slightly before his brother pulled his knees to his chest.

"Natsuo...please be honest...is it my fault?"

The older male felt frozen, still, hollow.

"What? No. Shoto, nothing that happened is your fault.
Nothing. Absolutely nothing. You are wonderful, kind, selfless and Brave.

You are subconsciously hilarious and cheer up every family gathering. We shouldn't be blaming you, we should be thanking you. Because, through all the torment, pain, you endured and kept a smile on your face, while giving us ours.

You saved us Shoto, you brang us together, you kept us sane. We lived through that because of you.

You are a true hero. And someday, I hope you see that."

Natsuo wishes, someday, Shoto will see that.

Natsuo wishes, someday, Shoto will believe that.

A/N
Sorry that this chapter is really rushed. My dog died yesterday and I can't seem to write to the best if my ability at the moment.

I made this two part oneshot because there aren't many books or stories about Natsuo and Shoto or their complicated relationship.

I hope you enjoyed this!!
