Dusk's light shone down on the chief of Berk as he prepared himself for one of the most important days of his life.

To say that Hiccup was nervous was a grave understatement, he was terrified. He had dreamt of this day for so long, and now that it was here, his mind and emotions were running rampant. Today was the day he was finally going to marry Astrid and enter a proper Viking union, he was beyond excited but terrified of messing things up; especially since he was in love with his mother as well. Although Astrid had come to terms with the fact that Hiccup loved Valka as well, the young chief feared that something between the three of them may go wrong and fracture their relationship as a whole.

Looking in a large mirror, Hiccup straightened his wedding tunic and proceeded to clip on his bear fur cloak around his shoulders and took hold of a crown of wreaths and placed it over his head. Turning around, Hiccup looked to Toothless who was watching him with curious eyes.

"What do you think bud? How do I look?"

The Night Fury approached and gave his rider a gummy smile and pressed his head into Hiccup's belly while warbling in approval. While wrapping his arms around the King of Dragon's head and murmuring thanks to his reptilian friend, Hiccup heard knocking at the front door. Opening the door, the chief of Berk was greeted by his male friends, they bore wedding gifts and words of advice. Gobber was the last one inside, and the old blacksmith let out a sigh and gave his old apprentice a warm smile.

"Oh lad, your father would be so proud of you right now," he stated. "Not only exceeded his expectations of being chief, helping us get back on our feet, but now you're expanding the Haddock bloodline by marrying Astrid."

"A decision I know she'll treasure forever," Fishlegs stated while patting Hiccup's back. "You two were bound to tie the knot sooner rather than later. I'm happy for you two."

"Even though I wish Astrid was into me, I can't deny that you two are fated to be together," Snotlout shrugged while chuckling. "I wish you happiness and prosperity, cousin."

"If you end up having kids, I have some name suggestions for you."

Turning to Tuffnut, the chief of Berk gave the male twin a nervous laugh. "As tempting as that is Tuff, I don't think Astrid will be too thrilled about that idea," he then continued before Tuffnut could object. "No offense, but when you name someone or something off the top of your head, it tends to be... horrible."

"Humph, oh well, your loss."

Chuckling at a now pouting Tuffnut, Hiccup turned to Eret and raised an eyebrow at him. "What about you, sailor? Do you have any pre-marital advice for me?"

"To savor what you have with her," he said sincerely. "Women like Astrid are in short supply, she's someone you shouldn't take for granted."

"Wise counsel," Gobber agreed. "Your father would say the same."

Humming, Hiccup soon made his way outside his home and looked to the statue of his father, and pursed his lips. Stoick always was eager for the day when Hiccup would finally marry Astrid and expand the Haddock bloodline, everybody knew this. And yet his father was no longer among the living to witness the day he would finally marry Astrid and start a family of their own.

"He's here, lad," Gobber reassured. "Stoick is not only seated with Odin and the Æsir, but he watches you marry the woman you've always loved from Valhalla." Smiling at his old mentor, Hiccup wrapped an arm around Gobber's shoulder and nodded in thanks. "Now, what do you say we get you to the Great Hall and marry that blond spitfire?"
