Chapter 12

A/n Im sorry this chapter will be all over the place. It will be in a couple people's POV's.

*Jack*

Running hard threw the town. I seemed to leave all my teammates far behind. It was only us leaders up in front. I could see the trails of those infront of me. I wasn't exactly trying hard for I was to busy looking at the buildings as they zoomed by.

So much had changed in this little town. They had new buildings. The old library had been refurbished and they added two new floors to it.

James started to fall behind to where i was. He had concern in his eyes.

"I'm fine...just...taking in the view!" I panted lightly and he nodded and sped up as I started to focus on the race again.

Instantly there was a loud shot and I saw a racer left behind in a net. I look ahead and find some humans and anthros with net guns and shooting them at us on top of a panle which was put up for us to turn. I saw one aim at me and fire. I quickly bounded over it and it flew under me and snagged a racer behind me. I frowned and ran harder pulling ahead of everyone else. If they can play dirty...well consider it to be revenge.

Going to fast for the turn I lept and hit the panel making it shake then landed back down on the ground running. The people on it had fallen backwards or had dropped their guns. I had fallen behind but not to far.

As I ran I saw a blue trail beside me and it belonged to Todd. I saw him nod and I have one back the pushed forward.

*Todd*

Seeing Jack take care of the Animal Control made me smile. He's trying to protect us, but they are also good. They get rid of your compeditors. All we have to do is protect Jack. Only he can win this. Only the team captain can win it for the team. If they are cought it goes to the right hand man aka...me.

Logan ran up next to me and gave a growl thinking, 'get your head out of the clouds Todd everyone is getting merched back here!' I nodded and started to fall back finding other teams snapping at our teams paws as we ran. Green Leaf was trying to help us the best they could.

Jamie was their target so they could work their way up. They were slowly pushing him into a trap that the Animal control made. It was a snare.

"Guys!" he croaked. He couldn't jump free or slow down for one was behind him.

Scot was trying desperately to save his brother. None of us could get to him. That's when Scot bounded over they guy behind him and shoved the guy on his left aside allowing Jamie to make it free but catching himself in the snare. As we all sped on he was dragged off. A little like on our uniforms turned off meaning we lost a member. Then I heard something that shook me to my core. A loud growl. I turn to see who it was and I saw Derek knocking away anyone who tried to get us, along with the rest of the Green Leaf team.

He gave me a nod and smiled nodding back.

*Shuan*

Sitting amongst the cheering crowd watching the footage being displayed felt good. I haven't been to a Beast Run since Jack was taken away. Those were dark times I refuse to let into my mind.

Screaming and cheering with the crowd when Jack took care of more Animal Control made me felt peace. Seeing Jack run again was amazing. Seeing his black trail, and how he avoided the obstacles made him look free. They had yet to do one lap.

"No! Down goes Silvertongue!" was said over the intercom and it appeared on the screen. He was tied up in a net. He was forced to shift back anthro so he could undo the ropes but the Animal Control was already upon him. James fought hard to get free.
