Chapter Sixteen

Me and Fury got back from my parents a few days ago and I was super excited to start my job at the dog recuse centre. I had also brought along a friend...technically Fury wanted me to have protection just in case something were to go wrong. Chains said nothing but gave me a glare grunting starring the car up.

"Good Morning Chains. I hope you don't mind me picking you to come along to work. I mean I could always bring along Tank. Him and Aspen would get along, well more Tank flirting with he-."

"No, he will not." He said clutching the steering wheel making his knuckles turn white. I pull my bottom lip in trying not to laugh. Oh this will be fun. We had turned the corner and the rescue centre had come into view. Aspen was waiting at the door patiently bouncing on her toes with joy when we had appeared. I smile seeing her small yet curvaceous figure jump up and down as she clumsily leant too far to one side but picked herself up before she fell. I try not to laugh and Chains quickly got out the car but stopped himself, struggling to pull back from her.

"H-hi! I'm so excited you're here. Hi C-Chains." She gushed nervously turning slightly pink on her ears and across the apples of her cheeks. I forgot to tell her he was coming but technically I wanted her to not know otherwise she would've found some excuse.

He nods looking her up and down, deeply breathing in and out before turning away as she blushed further more. "Come in. It's a bit chilly out here." She said rubbing her arms up and down as her floral dress flapped in the wind. I nodded and followed her in and heard the many dogs barking out loud, some whining too. "As the paperwork is already done, I can just show you the ropes of my everyday, it will be fun!" She said twirling around and stopped us at gate. "Here, these are all the keys you need for this place. You'll get to know which are which but first let's see all the dogs. Oh and C-chains?" She asked softly.

He stood towering over her with arms crossed. "Hmm." He mummers. "I-if you need something j-just ask and I will g-get it for you." She said giving him the sweetest smile. She turned away before he could say or do anything and I laugh before following her. Oh how she has him wrapped around his finger and he doesn't even know.

I had been getting to know all the dogs here and what their specific needs are throughout the day, I've been attacked multiple times but purely by love and affection. Even some dogs took a liking to Chains wanted to play. From last time, Odin the Doberman remembered him and stayed by his side the entire time standing with pride. Well they do say dogs tend to look like their owners. Aspen was busy rushing around and had eyes all over her, I could see her slightly flustered by a certain someone.

"Hey Aspen, would you like to come to the club tonight for drinks?" I asked and she stopped almost startled by my question. "I-oh really? Are you sure? I'm mean I don't really know how to get there nor do I have a ride." She whispered nervously.

"I'll take you." Chains said butting in before anyone could get a word out. Aspen stared in shocked and slightly shivered after hearing his deep, raspy voice. "R-really? I mean you don't have to I can get a taxi or-."

"No." He said staring down at her and nodded without thinking. Oh my plan was just starting to run smoothly. "Great! Wear something...sexy." I whisper and Chains looked like a dog sticking his ears out listening to everything that travelled in the wind. Oh urm...will a black dress do?" She said cautiously and peaked under her eyelashes at Chains.

I nod enthusiastically and she grins back. The day carried on and went by fast,I had finally found a passion in my life...I hope my Nana would be proud.
