AmelieRunning...people rather cringe or grin. I on one hand find it freeing, no one can stop me, I'm in control and i'm the only one who can push myself. One step in-front of the other, the birds singing, the busy cars brushing by...it was peaceful. Something which I currently needed. My grandmother, my Nana recently passed and she meant the absolute world to me, I've had to find myself and put myself back on my own two feet. My parents are amazing don't get me wrong, they love me unconditionally, they put a roof over my head and feed me till my heart was content but my Nana was my everything. So I said to them that I'm moving to New York and they complied but we're sad to see me go, she left me all her earnings something which I will forever be grateful for. I've rented an apartment out and it's surprisingly nice and I have been here for over a week or so, but it's nothing too fancy however, the ceiling isn't falling through so i'll take it. But, I am in need of a stable job and as much as I feel to guilty just living of my Nana's money, I don't like the thought of using people's money but I know she would be turning in her grave if I didn't. Bless her soul.
As I turned the corner, I saw a tall wooden post with a white crimped paper flapping through the wind, "Bartender Needed Urgently" the address as well as the name of the place and telephone number underneath. I took out my phone and took a quick photo saving it for later to go through and jogged my way back home.
I make it up the stairs to my apartment, glancing to and from as the lights flickered down cascading on me, now that is one dodgy concept of this of this place and these darn lights...you have one job! They always flash and twitch as I make my way up or down them, I shudder and quickly try to find my keys, don't drop them Amelie.
Phew! I throw down my keys on the kitchen side and make my way to my cozy sofa to rest my throbbing legs. I got out my phone and brought up the photo I took earlier, I skim the image for key words...bartender...club/bar...blah blah....come preferably at night. Seeing as I have nothing else to do, I'll make a quick stop tonight plus I urgently need a job, quickly booking a taxi beforehand. I jump up itching to get ready to look nice and presentable, taking a relaxing shower following my routine and changing into a appropriate outfit. I throw on my black skinny jeans, a body con long sleeve top and pair with golden accessories and heeled chunky boots. All black...best way to go. I straighten my golden brown hair and spend time and effort on my makeup. Makeup makes me feel confident and empowering, I feel like a YouTuber going through all the products I will be using...I need help.
A dime comes through letting me know my taxi has arrived and I make my way to the vehicle. A older gentlemen asks me for the address of my location. The address written down was strange and appeared odd, all it said was "The Outlaws". When I gave the location to my taxi driver, his eyes widened in fear and stuttered on his words. "P-pardon me Miss, but are you sure you want to go there, it's just you don't seem to...well you know." He rushed out waving his arms breaking out a sweat. "What do you mean, it's only a bar?" I laughed out. He started back intensely with a blank face. Okay...I laughed awkwardly to drown out the silence. "Sir, I really don't want to be a pain, I can get a different ride if you want? I just need to get there as soon as possible." I smiled gently at him.
"Of course miss...just be careful around there and with them." He spoke out anxiously. Them? Who's them? I shrugged it off and he began to dive to the destination. The sun was starting to set and the darkness was invading the streets and the shadows were creeping in. The more he was driving the more ghostly and bazar the place became. Now I was staring to get nervous, I rubbed my hands up and deon my jeans and twisted my rings left to right, something I do to calm me down. I was hoping this place would be on a busy street filled with laughter, people out with their friends but there were lots of groups, groups of men with a woman here and there clung to there arms or...laps. Then he pulled up to the club, rows of huge powerful bikes, they were beautiful but intimidating.
