The old man's riddle

There was once a young girl a day over six
Yet she was the smartest one beyond the horizon

So to the old man she went
head held high to ask for his question

Now listen close and listen wise the old man replied
For I shall say this once and once alone

You wander the world in hope to avoid me
Yet you wander straight into my arms

I keep you warm on a cold night
Yet the thought of me makes you cold

I give you hope in your darkest hour
Yet you run from me fervently

You have a place in my abode
Yet you run from it like prey from the hunter

My home is your home
There you shall rest and have the most peace

Who am I young one
who am I ?
