PART I. LOVER BOY
Chapter 1
Girls could have fainted seeing his image strut down the hall with confidence. He had dark chocolate brown eyes and hair that no matter how hard you tried, could not get messed up. He was a heartthrob. He even had a perfect name to go with his perfect body. His name was Devon Haen. The way he was, you would think he would go for the prettiest girl he could find. Not true. Devon loved everyone even if they were popular, nerdy, ugly, or beautiful.
By the look of Devon you would suspect him to be the most normal person you could find. Another thing not true. His mother was witch and his father was a bloodsucker also known as a vampire. Their incognitos were Mrs. Haen was a doctor and Mr. Haen was a business man. Mr. Haen was the boss of a large company known worldwide.
Devon was sitting in his father’s office waiting for his dad to awaken from his sleep. The fire was crackling and the sun was going down. Just five more minutes until he wakes up. Devon thought to himself, knowing the bloodsucker schedule by heart. A loud creaking was heard above. Devon looked up.
“Blasfemi!” The witch shouted from upstairs.
“Ohh.” Came a noise from the coffin next to Devon. “Your mother is trying to cast spells on rats again. Devon?” Mr. Haen said tiredly.
“I’m here, dad” Devon responded.
“Has that burning sun gone away yet?”
“No, not yet. I think you have five more minutes.”
There was a loud groan from the coffin. The fire flickered. The door to the office flung open and the witch came stomping in. Her eyes darted across the room searching. Her eyes stopped for a split second on an egg being warmed under a LED light. Her eyes finally rested upon her blood sucking husband.
“This house is filled with filthy, disgusting rats! I’m tired of them all!” The witch shouted.
Mr. Haen laughed from inside the coffin.
“Well we can’t get rid of my little minions. They need me.”
“You can come out now, dad” Devon said softly.
The bloodsucker whipped open the coffin. He had the color skin of a pale human. Just then, a bat flew down and attacked Mrs. Haen.
“Get! Get! Away!” Shouted the witch shooing at the bat.
The bloodsucker laughed again. Devon gave Mr. Haen a worried look. Then Devon looked at his mother struggle with the bat.
“Now, now, leave Mrs. Haen alone.” Mr. Haen cooed.
The bat flew away from the witch to the bloodsucker. Marty nipped affectionately at his face. Mrs. Haen’s skin color went from a light brown to a fire engine red.
“I want all of your pets gone. Every single one of them. They all serve no purpose. That means Marty, the rats, and your egg.” Mrs. Haen said calmly.
Mr. Haen looked at his bat, then at his son, and then at Mrs. Haen.
“The egg is for Devon. I can manage to part with the rats. I’ll have them for breakfast. But I could never lose little Marty. He loves this family.”
Marty clicked several times and jumped to Devon. Devon scratched behind the bat’s ears.
“What do you mean the egg is for me, Pop?” Devon asked more than curiously.
Marty flew to Mrs. Haen and bit her dangling earring of a green ruby. Mr. Haen swung his leg out of the coffin. Mr. Haen walked over to Mrs. Haen, ignoring his son.
