Jasmine's POV
"Ok," I heaved a sigh, "Let's get this straight."
"You and I, have nothing in common. We will not speak to each other except for Monday and Wednesday and Friday studying sessions after school, you understand?" I raised my eyebrows.
He looked bemused, staring a little down at me, "Why not? I can talk to you whenever I want."
I looked up at him curiously, usually, people would agree with whatever I said.
Well, here comes Plan B.
I stuck my chin up, batted my eyes at him and tiptoed till I whispered in his ears, " I'm so sorry to tell you this, but nerds and popularity don't mix. So it'll be much better if we stayed that way, right?"
I winked at him and smiled at his widened eyes and stalked away.

For the rest of the school, I was frustrated over whether I should tell my friends or not.
I chose the latter when Sarah and Clara asked me what had happened in the headmistress's office.
"Nothing happened, you know, same lectures and me, of course getting my own way." I told them as I closed the door behind me.
"Bye! See you tomorrow!" I smiled fakely back at them as I waved at the car racing away.
As I ascended the stairs to my room, I heard my helper yelling for me.
"Jasmine! Your mum wants you down in a sec."
"Yeah! Tell her I want to talk to her also." I screamed back.
I dumped my schoolbag beside my desk and sauntered down the stairs.
I pushed open the ajar door to the living room where my mother was painting her nails on the velvet couch.
She raised her perfectly plucked eyebrows and gestures for me to sit on the sofa in front of her.
"Jas dear, I know that you are doing your best at school. But it has come to my attention..." she started as I slumped on my seat.
" ...that my maths is not up to par, which is why you want me to have a tutor? That's alright, cuz my headmistress had already given me a nerd to tutor me." I cut her off and crossed my arms.
"Dear...it's alright with you, right? Your father and I only want the best for you." She whispered, a bit of hurt flashing through her eyes.
I sighed, " Yes, I understand you guys, I will do my best, ok? So...can I leave?"
"Sure," my mum smiled back at me and then continued painting her nails.
"Btw mum, you owe me something, because studying with a nerd is detrimental to my popularity, I'm sacrificing a lot for this." I stated as I opened the door to the stairs.
My mum nodded her head and said, "Whatever you want."
When I got back to my room, I opened my diary and wrote
Dear diary,
It's the start of something new...
