13 - End of the First Arc

John POV

Hearing the door to the roof click, I turn around to be met with the glare of a set of blue eyes. Immediately realizing it was Arlo, I locked eyes with him, getting a brief flashback to our last conversation on the roof. I crossed my arms as he broke the silence.

"John. Let's have a talk. Just you, me, and Seraphina. Privately." He turned his head to Remi, Blyke, and Isen. They instantly knew that that was their signal to leave.

As the three were leaving to give us Arlo his requested privacy, I grabbed Remi's wrist and looked back at Arlo.

"She stays. I don't care about Blyke and Isen, but there will be nothing to say if she can't stay." I stated.

Arlo sighs. "I guess that'll have to work."

"What do you need from me." I asked.

"Answers. You are hiding something aren't you? Something you won't even tell Seraphina." He said crossing his arms. "Personally I don't want to know what your hiding anymore. I already faced the consequences of what happened the first time I tried getting something out of you. All i want to know is why you lost control at the turf wars site, and if is something that will happen again."

"I-It won't happen again. The entire situation just reminded me of something from my past... Something I wish i could just shut out and never remember again." I balled up my fists from even talking about the subject.

"That's good to hear. That's all you'll be hearing from me, for now. I'm pretty sure Seraphina has something she wants to talk to you about so i'll be taking my leave." With that being said, Arlo looked at Seraphina and mouthed 'Good luck' while turning to walk away.

Before he could leave, Sera grabbed Arlo just like I did to Remi.

Sera turned to Arlo and whispered to him "I'm gonna need you to stay. Just be on standby and talk to Remi or something. We are gonna be talking about something that's probably going to be hard on him. So just in case he flips out i'm going to need a lot more protection than you two will."

Arlo nods at what she told him and leaned next to the door to the stairs. Keeping his arms crossed, he kept his eyes in the direction of Sera.

I looked down a little as Sera got closer to me. She looked at Remi, and started to talk to her.

"Remi if you don't mind, could you go talk with Arlo for a couple of minutes?"

Remi turned to me and asked "Should I?"

I asked Sera, "Why does she need to go over there? The conversation can't be that private if they are standing by the door, considering if they are standing there, they can hear any conversation going on."

Sera looked at me and said "This conversation needs to happen. Not just for me, but for you too. I need to know what you are hiding from me. I don't want any details hidden from me."

Hearing how someone wants to know more about my past got me angry. I activated my Ability and placed a barrier around us.

I looked at Remi and told her "Go tell Arlo that this is just for privacy. I won't try anything, it's just so nobody can listen to us."

She nodded and looked back as i opened a hole in the barrier so she can leave. I redirected my attention back to Seraphina.

"Is this private enough for you? I want to get this talk done with." I said slightly annoyed.

"This is fine. Just make sure that they can see inside."

I nodded my head and granted her request.
