*Austin's POV*
I walked up to the front door and took a deep breath. I was so nervous. It felt like this was our first date.
I knocked on the door and a few minutes later it swung open. My heart beat faster and I smiled.
"Holy shit. You look amazing." I said.
She smiled. "Thank you." She smoothed out her red knee length dress. It was tight on top and then flared out at the bottom. Her hair was straightened and looked even longer than usual.
I held my hand out. "Are you ready?"
She nodded. "Yes." She stepped outside and shut the door. We walked to the car. "So where'd you go after dinner?"
I opened her door. "I went to my dads."
She got in and I shut the door, going to my side and getting in. "Are you ready for the best night of your life?"
She chuckled. "I hope so."
On the drive to the restaurant we talked about the kids and Damien's school. All the normal parent talk. When we pulled up I put my hand on her leg. "For the rest of the night, no more kid talk. Tonight it's all about us."
She smiled and nodded. "Deal."
We walked in hand in hand. People looked at us and other men looked at Stephanie. I felt like the luckiest guy in the world. I got to talk into the best restaurant in town with the most beautiful woman in the world.
We went up to the hostess and I smiled. "Reservation for two. Carlile."
Stephanie looked at me. "This is really fancy, babe. Are you sure we can afford this?"
I shook my head. "Anything for my girl." I smiled and kissed her.
"Right this way, Mr and Mrs Carlile." The hostess said, walking towards the dining room.
She squeezed my hand. "I will never get tired of hearing that."
I smiled and when we got to our table her eyes grew wide and she stopped. "Oh my gosh, this view.." She whispered.
Our table was right in front of the large floor to ceiling window. The ocean was sparking under the sunset. The sky was a mix of oranges and pinks.
I pulled Stephanie's chair out and she sat down, then I sat down across from her. The waiter came up and I ordered us some wine.
"Austin, this is amazing." She said.
I reached across the table and took her hands, looking at her ring. "I still can't believe you said yes to a big goofball like me."
She smiled. "How could I have said no?"
I smiled and kissed her hand. "Two weeks in, I proposed. And we're still together. That's amazing."
"Almost two years, baby." She said.
I nodded. "We've had our ups and downs, but you're happy, right?"
She smiled and rubbed my hand with her thumb. "I am. Even after everything that's happened, I still get butterflies when you look at me."
I smiled and kissed her hand again. "I remember the day we met, when you bumped into me," I winked at her, "I seen you, and you literally took my breath away. Your red lipstick and that tight Issues t-shirt, God, you were gorgeous."
She blushed. "You remember what I was wearing?"
"Of course. How could I forget the day I met my soulmate?" I said.
She smiled and looked out the window. "You know, when I was a little girl, I always looked at my parents and thought about how lucky they were to find each other. I thought they were so perfect together and I always wanted to grow up and find something like that." She looked at me. "I always wanted the relationship they had." She smiled. "You've given me that, and so much more." Her eyes filled with tears. "Aside from some obvious problems, you've made me so happy. You've given me everything I always wanted."
I smiled and leaned across the table, kissing her. "Stephanie, I love you so much."
She wiped her eyes and chuckled. "Thank God for waterproof makeup."
I laughed. "Baby, let's dance."
She smiled. "Ask me nicely."
I grinned and stood up, bowing in front of her and holding my hand out. "Stephanie Rose Carlile, will you please give me the great honor of dancing with your big goofball husband?"
She smiled and took my hand. "I guess."
I smiled and pulled her up, taking her to the dance floor. We went to the middle and I wrapped my arms around her, smiling and kissing her. We danced for hours, only stopping to eat and drink our wine.
After we finished eating we went to our hotel. When we reached our room I stopped Stephanie and pushed her up against the door, kissing her.
Her hands rested on either side of my neck and I put my hands on her waist. Our tongues danced and she pulled me closer, pressing her body into mine. My hands traveled down to her butt and I squeezed. A moan slipped from her lips and I reached into my pocket for the key, never breaking our kiss. I unlocked the door and picked her up, kicking the door open and taking her inside.
I took her to the bed and set her down. She looked up at me and smiled. I smiled and leaned over, kissing her and kissing her neck, then I stopped and pulled away.
"I'm sorry, I know you need time."
She shook her head and stood up, wrapping her arms around my neck. "Austin, make love to your wife." She smiled and kissed me.
