𝕿hough many disproved of their union...

If Delia had more time, she would admire Olympus in the glory of the setting sun. Marble temples glowed orange, like dying stars, and everywhere, there was a plethora of people, smells and new places that she would have loved to explore. Her eyes were wide in child like wonder, before a hand on her shoulder stopped her admiration. Amphritite raised an eyebrow, and Delia shrugged.

"I have never been here before," They both nodded. "Where do we need to go?"

"Well, they should be in the main throne room," Persephone mused, looking over at the largest temple in the distance. Delia shuddered at the sight of the golden statue of Zeus that lay above it, the master bolt in it's hand. Her breathing hitched, before she thought of Hermes. "The Olympians have been in there for days, arguing with one another."

"Are you sure that you are alright to do this?" Amphritite asked again, squeezing Delia's shoulders as the girl nodded. "We could always go and interrupt without you needing to show your face. Do not force yourself into doing something that makes you uncomfortable."

"Zeus needs to learn that his actions have consequences and that I will not bow under his whim for any longer." Delia replied, trying to sound strong though she knew that it came out as a whisper.

"You tell him, honey." Persephone nudged her, before hooking her arms through the other two goddess'. "Now, let us go and push Zeus off of his high ego."

"Lets." Delia nodded, taking strength from the sturdy foundations on either side of her. Minor gods and goddess' hurried out of their way, watching the trio with wide eyes, as Deli struggled to get her breathing back under control. Tightening her grip on her staff, she tried to take some comfort in the thought that she would be seeing Hermes again, and that she would finally, finally, be free of Zeus.

She could close that chapter on her life and move forward and away from him.

The temple doors were fast approaching, and Amphritite conjured a wave of water to throw them open for the trio, before allowing Delia to walk in first. The older woman knew that this was Delia's moment, and this was Delia's choice. No one else should take this from her.

The guardian took a deep breath, squaring her shoulders as she walked in. Her eyes immediately went to Hermes, who was luckily uninjured, though annoyance was radiating off of him in waves. His eyes softened at the sight of her and Delia fought a smile as the wings on his sandals began to flutter.

Poseidon sat to the right of the main throne, rubbing his forehead as he watched the trio, but she could see the grin that he was hiding underneath his beard. He was not that subtle about it. The Queen of the Gods, who Delia recognized from Leto's description, sat ramrod straight next to Zeus.
