For the first few days, Patti looked after Elvis' grandmother - you couldn't get bored with Dodger - the old woman still wanted something. They went for walks every day, watched movies, knitted, even baked cookies! All this was watched from the side by Cilla, whose face was always pouted.

Patti knew the girl was afraid of losing Elvis' attention and her - she thought - certain place with the King as his girlfriend. The truth was, Cilla was about to disappear from the horizon, but Patti didn't know it.

As for Elvis ... He was using the times when he wasn't busy with work to hang out with Grandma and Patti, go for a walk with them. The Colonel and Vernon frowned at it all, and Cilla seemed to be on the verge of despair at times.

Elvis took care of Patti's well-being - the cook sent sweets and oriental dishes to the girl's room every day. Elvis came to the girl every night to ask how her day was.

Patti kept pushing the idea that there was more than a friendly concern behind it, as she refused to accept the fact that she had become the new star of the celebrity's sigh.

After the first week had passed, Patti was walking with Minni Mae in the beautiful garden when they heard someone's footsteps. The women turned to see Elvis walking towards them with a broad smile. Dodger smiled back, and Patti raised her eyebrows.

—My beautiful ladies — Elvis walked over to them and kissed Grandma on both cheeks. Then he wanted to do the same to Patti, but she suddenly stepped back. Elvis looked at her in surprise, as Dodger noticed.

—I'll go see the roses our gardener planted — Minnie muttered and walked away with surprising speed considering she was complaining about a sore hip. — I'll be right back, sweeties.

When she was out of sight, Elvis put his hands on his hips.

—What's that supposed to mean, Patricia?— Asked the angry one. — Your behaviour?

— Are you annoyed that you didn't kiss me?— Patti raised an eyebrow. — On greeting? Don't you think that's how you should greet Cilla, not me?

He was already opening his mouth to answer, but Patti was faster:

— You think I can't see it? Cilla's attitude towards me, or the looks your father and Parker give me. As well as the eyesight of other people and your employees. You're either busy with work or with me, for real. You're not even seeing Priscilla. Why am I really here? I want to hear it from you.

— I'm helping you, you know that ...

— Do not lie! — Patti pointed a finger at his chest. — I'm sure now it's all not accidental. Your appearance, my sudden job loss ...

Elvis' body tightened - his eyes darkened as he looked at the girl.

— You know my conclusion when Dixie broke up with me?— he asked quietly. — That when you're in a relationship you have to be completely honest. Back then, when I was with her, I wasn't as honest as I should have been.

— We're not in a relationship, God ...

—Don't get God mixed up in this — Elvis said firmly. —I didn't cheat on your sister and I didn't sleep with my fans, I was honest here. But I kissed horny teens, and it was a mistake that cost me my first love. Do you want to know why you are really here?

He surprised her. He wanted to tell her the truth, really? Could Dixie's firm decision years ago have given Elvis' ego a decent kick and taught him something? That you have to be generally honest with people?

— The main reason I was optimistic about the flight to LA was that you live there — he replied, taking a deep breath. — Apart from that, I would treat the business routine as always, but the thought that I will meet you ... gave me wings after so many years.
