For the next three weeks, Elvis and Patti spent time together - each time Elvis came up with an unusual attraction for her. However, after each date - yes, a date - Patti had to stop kidding herself - she hoped that what she would feel for Elvis was sheer affection and maybe an older brother affection, but it was otherwise - Elvis took a short break.
He informed her that he was busy and that they might not be seeing each other for a day or two. Patti found herself waiting impatiently for his every call - a call or an unexpected visit, which Elvis liked to do.
Her feelings were also different. It wasn't what she felt about him when she was a child - worship was mixed with admiration back then. Now she felt a real attraction to him, like ... a woman to a man.
Patti first felt it was inappropriate, if only because Elvis had once been her sister's boyfriend, almost a brother to her. But then she took a different look at it.
Dixie was stubborn and her pride did not allow her to return to Elvis. Dixie's rationality won, leaving her heartbroken forever. Patti knew Dixie didn't love her husband as she should. Her true love was Elvis Presley.
And now ... now it was different. Dixie was dead and Patti was alone in this world. Patti was afraid she would be one of Elvis's gains, but so far Elvis had kissed her maybe a few times, and sometimes, he had accidentally touched her. She didn't accidentally believe it, but the care and attention he gave her made her remember the good old days in Memphis. When her life was carefree and full, when she had parents and a beloved sister.
It was obvious that Elvis had specific intentions towards her and hadn't gone far so far. Despite this, Patti tried to control her lust - she could see that the singer clearly wanted her. Besides, not only he felt a similar desire for sexual intercourse. Patti's body also showed her willingness to have sex with him.
Patti was curious about this Elvis game. Was it evident that he was doing everything to make her believe in his sincere intentions and fall in love with him?
When she thought about it, she felt her heart beat faster. Did she want this? Fall in love with the King and feel his love?
Patti was sitting up in bed eating breakfast provided by the staff when she heard the phone ringing. She picked up the receiver and heard a familiar voice:
— Hello, little Patti.
—Elvis. — She smiled broadly at what he called her. — I'm not little anymore, you know?
— You will always be to me — Elvis laughed heartily. — What are you doing, little one?
—I eat breakfast — she said. — Very good.
— How much?
—So much so that I eat them for a long time. — She giggled and then heard the door open slowly. She guessed it was Elvis and then saw that he was standing in the doorway wearing jeans and a white shirt. He was wearing a blonde wig and his eyes were hidden behind large sunglasses. He had a pager in his hand.
—When you mentioned breakfast, I felt like I was going hungry — he muttered and took off his glasses. — I did eat, but just imagining you eating strawberries made me hungry ... hungry to see you.
He stepped closer, and Patti squeezed the coffee mug in her hand. Elvis crouched down and looked at the tray that left a pancake, a few strawberries and freshly squeezed orange juice. Elvis took one strawberry and touched his mouth with it. Then he gently took a bite of the strawberry and muttered:
— Delicious, really.
— It's mine! — Patti laughed and touched his cheek involuntarily. — But I'll share with you, why not?
