"Vincent stop!" laughed Adriana as she felt her face being licked. She opened her eyes to see that its Bruno laying next to her.
"Ahh Bruno, good boy." she tapped his head, as she walked to find her phone. "What time is it?" she had a severe migraine from the last night's partying and drinking, but she was good at getting over hangovers.
Thirteen missed calls from Lindsay. Why was she calling her? It was only 7 AM, and Adriana had to get ready for work. She worked as a journalist at the New York Times sports column, and being late was not acceptable.
Adriana got into her car and dialed Lindsay's number.
"Hey stranger. Where have you been, I was calling you all night yesterday!" Lindsay didn't like being ignored, she was spoiled and she always got what she wanted.
"Sorry, I went out, I came home late. I just saw your missed calls." explained Adriana.
"You went out? With who? Why didn't you invite me?" asked Lindsay.
"I went out with Vincent." said Adriana, trying to remember what happened last night.
"The new guy! So you had a date, tell me everything!" Lindsay became curious, it was no longer about her only. She was the one who was getting married and dating was no longer going to be part of her life. It scared her.
"I wouldn't call it a date, his friends were there." Adriana tried to remember Vincent's friend name.
"What? He came with his friends, that is so lame."
"He didn't come with his friends, it just happened that they were there, so they joined us." explained Adriana
"Oh..,"the whole story was confusing to Lindsay, why did Vincent's friend join them if it was a date? "Anyway, I was calling to tell you that I had a fight with James and I am back to my apartment. I took a day off for today too." Lindsay worked as a store manager at Bergdorf Goodman, and taking a day off was not a big deal for her.
"You had a fight? Already? Why did you move out?" now Adriana was the one getting confused, trying to focus on her road. Afterall, Lindsay had the perfect boyfriend and a perfect life, what could be the reason for their fight?
"Let's meet today after work, and I will tell you the whole story. He is an asshole!"
"Today, I finish at five and then I have to go to a baseball game for one of my articles. Do you want to come with me? I have 2 tickets anyway." asked Adriana, hoping that Lindsay joins her as she hated going to games by herself and sitting next to bunch of drunk men.
"Ok, just text me what time and the address, I'll come."
"Ok then, see you later. Bye." Adriana hung the phone, as she was already outside the New York Times building parking at her spot.
