Normal P.O.V.
Wendy stood in the kitchen, crossing her arms and looking pointedly away from Natsu. "I don't want to talk to you."
"Look, I know you're mad, and you have every right to be, but you have to understand, I'm just trying to provide for you."
"I know," She pouted. "But I just wish we could spend more time together."
"I want that too, and I try to take days off so we can hang out-"
"Like, once every two months!"
Natsu sighed. "Wendy, this job is the only thing that puts food on our table, that keeps the lights on."
"We had food on our table before," She insisted. "And the sun is all the light we need."
"We didn't eat some nights because we had no food! We had no power, no running water, nothing! Were you really happier before?"
"At least before I had my brother," She spat.
"Wendy, I-"
"We don't even have weekends together! You couldn't even find enough time to come to the school for the parent-teacher conference! Xavier had to do it!"
"It was just a conference-"
"What about the time you promised to come to the park to meet my friends and then blew me off an hour before we were supposed to leave?"
"An emergency came up and-"
"Or the time you left me alone at the fair?"
"It's not like we were going to go on any of the rides-"
"Or when you forgot my birthday?!"
"I...I got you a present."
"Yeah, you gave me a twenty-dollar gift card to Target when you came home from work at ten p.m., without even saying 'Happy Birthday' before you left."
"I...uh," Natsu struggled to defend himself. "You're right. I know you're right, and I feel awful every time I have to go to work instead of hang out with you, but I have to. I can't let us go back to how we were living before."
"I know you're just trying to provide for me," She whispered. "It just gets lonely."
Xavier looked over from the couch, where he had been listening in. "Well, I'm always here-"
"Shut up, Xavier," They both snapped.
Wendy let out an exasperated sigh. "I'm going to go upstairs."
Natsu watched sadly as she trudged up to her room. He pinched the bridge of his nose and sat down next to Xavier with a groan. "First Lucy, now this," He grumbled.
"Lucy?!" Wendy's door slammed open as she barreled back down the stairs. "What about Lucy?!"
Xavier looked questioningly at her. "How did you-"
"Dragon slayer," The two siblings quickly reminded.
"Right."
Wendy turned to Natsu excitedly. "Is Lucy here?"
"She, uh, she's going to college at East Crocus-"
Wendy gasped. "That's not very far from here! That means we can go see her, right?"
