Fallen [Part 1]
My stark white wings had just barely curled around the width of my fragile body as I collided with the hard Earth below. My body had not stopped at the surface, for the speed I was travelling at failed to yield for any reason as I made my descent to Earth. Thankfully, the amount of pain you might've thought I would feel was gradually decreased due to my wings. So as I laid in my self-made crater, I only shivered from the crisp air while my wings retracted into their designated area in my back. Damned to Earth, my mood was not as joyous and pleasant as such expected from an Angel. The difference between myself and the beings that were lucky enough to remain in Heaven, was that I had been damned for an inconceivable act, that was only a misunderstanding, in which the simplicity of could not be comprehended. I had been in Heaven from the day I was born, up until now. Depressing that such a predicament I was in could end a streak of eternal happiness.
For once in my life, I could say I was less than satisfied. Prior to my falling, I'd always taken a careful gratefulness to anything I received; whether it was a compliment or a gift, or the smallest thing imagineable. I never took anything for granted, but I had also never understood the saying "you never know what you have until it's gone." It's not that I took Heaven for granted; no, I appreciated living in such a place with every fiber in my being. I just never placed myself in the shoes of an ordinary human, or any other creature inhabiting this Earth.
Casting my gaze upward, I reached for the grass I saw peeking over the edge of my ditch. As I struggled onto the grass, it truly rendered in my mind that I had been forced into unknown territory. Nothing around me gave clue to where I was other than a street sign that had been tampered with. Not only was it crooked, but it was designed in black, bold, foul words that barely let me see past them.
"Maywood.." I tested the foreign word on my equally foreign tongue, as I stretched, having been cramped up in that hole for minutes on end. Surveying my surroundings, I found nothing and no one around that could be of service to me. I saw dark allies with more crude words painted upon them, roads and sidewalks littered with trash; I figured I was in a tight spot, a 'bad side' of town for a lack of better terms.
After a bit of walking, I had reached an edifice that stood to great, great heights. It towered over me, and surely every other being on this Earth. There was a red illuminescent sign nailed just above the doors, entitled Lodge Inn. Such a building imposed great dominance, and that made me both nervous and suspicious of it. By all means, I was ready to waltz in there; but I had to remember nudity was not as casual in Heaven as it was here. There, it was a "Come as you are" sort of thing, but here...here, judgement and ridicule were due.
I've already sinned, right? What's a bit more damage to it.
I made my way behind the building, and was met with a door - thankfully unlocked. It wasn't the smartest move on someone else's part, but it was in my favor.
Making my way inside, I basked in the warmth of what seemed to be a laundry room, and made my way to the stairs at the left of me.

A sigh of great relief escaped past my lips as I closed the door of the hotel room beside me quietly, resting my forehead on it. After snagging a copy of the keycard assigned to this room from the oddly empty front desk, I escaped to the designated room written on the back before anyone could spot the naked blonde traipsing about the hotel halls. Before I had a chance to turn and explore the room I had invaded, the very thing I hadn't thought of spoke from behind me.
"Who the fuck are you? And why are you in my room?" Turning slowly, I paled. A sickeningly terrifying black gun grew a knot in my stomach, as the tip settled between my widnened green eyes. Wielding it was a tall, muscular man dressed in black and leather. Everything about him was dark; his hair, his deep blue eyes, his tattoos. He was above the average handsome, but I could only focus on the fact he could probably put me within an inch of my life with one punch.
"I'll ask again," his deep voice rattled me even more in a shudder. He sounded like a brute - a sexy one, but a brute nonetheless. He jabbed the gun between my eyes, making me wince. Jesus, I had never been so scared.
"Who the fuck are you and why the fuck are you here?" Another jab with the gun as my silence continued. I was too scared to answer, too scatterbrained to conjure up something to say that would permit me to live just a little longer. Maybe it was an empty threat? He could just be coercing me to answer to him.. Perhaps the gun wasn't even loaded! Yeah, positive thoughts.
A distinct click suddenly yanked me from my thoughts, bringing me to the awareness that the gun was indeed loaded.
The man now held a smirk.
"Don't get your hopes up." God, he was enjoying this? "Last fucking chance. You better tell me who the fuck you are, and why you're here, or all that's left of your presence will be your brains all over this goddamn wall."
Jesus, why couldn't I have grabbed the keycard to a different room?
