Uzumaki Residence, three days later...

The Uzumaki siblings slept peacefully, completely unaware of the fact that they were being very closely watched by piercing, prying blue eyes with a nearly murderous intent in them. However, at the same time the owner of such gaze ignored the fact that the two young Jōnin had their own guardian watching over them and him as well. A gasp escaped the blond man's lips the moment he sensed first an all-too-familiar presence on his back and then the edge of a small sword rather than a kunai being pressed against a side of his neck until it caused a thin line of blood to spill out of the wound. Deidara had trained himself and even used a small device in his left eye to evade Itachi's Genjutsu; his speed however was a completely different thing. The Iwagakure shinobi was fast himself, however Uchiha was one of the fastest members of Akatsuki. If not the fastest.

- Get the Hell out of here in this instant or the next time it won't be a simple blade what might mar your skin... Want me to show you how Hell's fire actually feels?

With a quick move and without giving Deidara a second's response, Itachi held his left arm firmly against his back with his own free right hand to later on jump down the tree they were standing on. The ebony-haired Konoha shinobi then pulled his former Akatsuki fellow against the large tree trunk while activating his Mangekyo Sharingan. It was then that he realized that Deidara no longer had the device protecting his left eye. Thus, he took the chance to get some information out of him and put the blond under his Genjutsu while simultaneously trying to read his mind. Deidara's skill was making clay objects he would fill with dangerous, lethal explosives. Well, that was exactly what Itachi experienced as soon as he had just begun to delve into the memories of Iwagakure's blond shinobi. The ebony-haired man felt his temples throb as if he were being hit with a hammer from the inside, until that already uncomfortable and unbearable pain turned into something similar to an explosion. Literally speaking, since he felt even his eyes burn as if he had used Amaterasu at least three consecutive times. Finally and to make that 'theory' all the more evident, the moment he found himself forced to release Deidara from his Genjutsu, Itachi noticed both his eyes were bleeding quite profusely and, what was worse, he heard the man from Iwagakure scream desperately in pain. When he lifted his gaze up to the other former Akatsuki, he opened his onyx eyes wide.

- How...? How did this happen? I never intended...

He dropped to his knees, gasping for breath. It felt as if he had exhausted up to his last reserves of Chakra in that moment. His legs buckled beneath his knees until he finally collapsed.

Uchiha Residence, that night...

Sarada panicked when she heard that terrified scream coming from the guests' room. She had just returned from a mission with her team and, as it was his custom, Boruto had accompanied her home. The Nanadaime's son thus looked at his best friend with concern plastered all over his face not only upon seeing her reaction to that scream but also upon hearing the second scream coming from the same direction. And he couldn't help to ask if the person occupying that room was who he thought it was. Sarada nodded slowly and then replied with a tremor on her lips and even in her eyes that her parents had asked her uncle to stay with them along with her companion. However, Konan had declined the invitation, claiming that she would only be meddling in her friend's family life. At that moment they heard another scream followed by a sound that caught Boruto by surprise. Thus he looked at his friend, whose terrified expression only became more evident and demanded to know what was going on. At that moment, Sasuke and Naruto arrived and the shoulder length ebony-haired man excused himself with them and walked over to his brother's room the moment he too heard that same sound. That was, cough; and a pretty violent fit by the way.
