Starflight sat silently at his desk, silently feeling his talons along one of the several scrolls made for blind dragons, he let out a long, sad sigh as his talons reached the end of the scroll, despite reading them all multiple times he was always sad whenever he finished reading a scroll. He felt his way over to the shelf and placed it back in the proper slot as he heard talonsteps enter the library.
"Good morning... Darkstar?" He asked, still getting used to how new students entered the room, Darkstar was light on his feet but moved quickly with lots of energy, sometime Starflight saw him as a son, which Darkstar stated he didn't mind due to his true father being unknown and his mother passing away.
"Yep! Its me! Hi Starflight! I came to return the scroll on hivewings!" He hopped up and down excitedly.
"Already? Its only been a day?" Starflight responded with a small chuckle.
"Hey, you finish scrolls in a day too!" the little hybrid fought back with his words.
Starflight shrugged "You have a point there..."
He picked up the scroll and placed it in its slot. "Thanks, Starflight!" He called as he swiftly dashed out of the cave.
Starflight had begun reorganizing scrolls behind his desk as he heard more talon steps enter. "Hello Fatespeaker..."
"Hi Starflight!" She said excitedly "So... I made you a little something..." She placed what felt like a flower tiara on his head and his allergies immediately started to act up.
"Oh... tha-ACHOO thank you... this is the, 4th one this week..." he scratched the top of his head.
"I know! You keep loosing them, they must keep falling off whenever you sneeze! It must be really dusty in here... anyways I should get going! We have some new students coming in and Im going to need to welcome them, bye Starflight!"
He gave a friendly wave and waited until her mumbles to herself faded away before he let out a deep sigh and chucked the garland out the window.
"hey, Starflight..." Starflight recognized this voice as Sunny and his heart fluttered slightly, before he remembered that Sunny had rejected him years ago.
"Hi..." he mumbled in response.
"So... I got a little help from Turtle and Qibli and I we made you this..." She held out her talons and Starflight could feel what felt like an earing in the shape of a crescent moon. He took it carefully, it felt... tingly, he placed it on his ear and a flood of shapes and colors cascaded his eyes and he looked around in awe, he saw shelves of scrolls, wonderful green plants, and Sunny's grinning, golden, beautiful face in front of him. "I... thank you..." He whispered.
She dragged him in for a hug and he could feel his heart racing, was this what he wanted for all these years? Which was it? Being able to see, or being embraced by Sunny? Either way, his life was set on a more stable track now, and nothing was going to stop him.
