The early morning was rising and they all decided to remember more of their memories. Charlie took off her bomber and kept her baggy jeans, her oversized white shirt and black hightops on. She removed the hair tie from her messy ponytail and let her hair drop. She looked down at her hands and they were messed up. Her left was bandaged with the knife cut and the other had her 27 year old scar.
She walked out of the inn with her friends. The town was asleep as the sun was just rising. They walked across streets and went to the woods. They walked through the trees with the sun pouring down on them, memories started to come back in Charlie's head.
"The Barrens"
"This is where we came, after Charlie got in that fight" Ben said.
Charlie chuckled, "Yeah I wonder where that shit face is now, I'd like to kick his ass"
"The clubhouse" Richie remembered.
"That's right, you built that for us" Bev said to Ben.
"Yeah the hatch has gotta be here someplace" Richie said.
They all moved around the leaves trying to find the opening to the clubhouse. Charlie was moving the leaves with her shoes and Mike noticed a tattoo on her arm.
"Nice birds" he said, mentioning the three inked birds on her arm. "What are they meant for?"
She looks up at him and looks at her arm "Oh, I dunno, I've just always wanted to be a bird. You know, fly away" He laughed.
He smiled. He really liked her tattoo and thought it was neat. "Yeah I know what you mean" he said looking back down to find the hatch.
"Where would you want to go when you leave this town?" Charlie asked.
Mike took notice that she said 'when' and not 'if'. "I always wanted to go to the beach. I've never been" he said imagining the crashing waves.
"I'll take you, you'll really like it" Charlie said looking down trying to find the hatch. Mike looked and smiled at her, he really did miss her.
"You know I think the door was .." Ben was saying. He was jumping on the ground, "... right here" he then fell right through that ground.
"Found it. I'm okay!" he said from below. "Come down!"
They all walked to where he fell.
"Holy shit" Charlie said as she walked inside. They all climbed inside the old dusty underground clubhouse. There were pieces of fallen objects and everything was covered in dust.
"Okayyy Mr. Architect" she told Ben as she came down to the clubhouse.
"What the dick is this? How'd you build it?" Richie asked. Charlie walked with him as they checked out the place.
"When did you build it?" Bill asked.
"Here and there I guess" Ben said. He leaned against a pole and a wooden plank fell. Charlie stared at it.
"Nice, might as well use that for that to kill someone" she suggested.
"Okay see this is exactly why we have safety codes and permits, this place is a death trap you understand that?" Eddie told Ben.
"Eddie please, we don't need a whole report on safety regulations right now" Charlie told him. Mike laughed and she smiled at him. But Eddie kept talking.
"And what is that like an iron maiden -oh this is cool" he said getting distracted by the paddle ball.
He then started playing with it right in front of Stans face. Charlie looked over at Richie and rolled her eyes.
