PART I
Remington! Remington! "Remington!" Ah! Remington awoke in a cold sweat, as he hears someone calling his name. Looking around his polished room, he sees nothing but the shadows of his clothes.
There is soon a knock on his door, as it opens slightly. Remington nods, giving permission for them to enter. "Good morning, my liege."
Remington hums in response. "I've brought you your breakfast, Queen demands you and Prince Sebastian be at the Great Hall when you are done."
"Fair well." Remington responds. The maid scurries out of the room, as Remington groans sitting up.
Remington lifted the silver lid off of the plate to see the food he was being given for breakfast, bread, corn, fish, and ale. Remington shuddered in disgust at his food. He took a few bites of the bread, grabbing the rest of the goods and preserving them in cloth, putting them under his bed.
He would save the food he would not eat, and sneak out at night to feed the peasants. Although his mother and father claimed "peasants are not people, they do not deserve the food we pick for you" he disagrees.
His parents believed he was eating, yet he was getting thinner as the days grew. Only taking the ale from his breakfast and eating a slight bit of pork at dinner. His mother would get angered at the sight of his waist thinning, since he would need to go for fittings every month; that she would make him eat all of his dinner, and wouldn't be allowed to leave until it was spotless.
Remington rolled his eyes at the thoughts as he got dressed in his clothes for the day. As it was dark in the castle, it was also very much cold. He heard the scurries of the servants as he layered his clothing, ending with his red frock coat.
He let his fireplace stay heating up his room with the beautiful flames as he left. Out into the stone hallway, with minimal windows, shadows casting across the floor as the servants hurried to tend to the royal family.
He was left thinking for a moment, he doesn't think all of these servants should be tending to him. He barely liked the castle life. It was smelly, dark and cold; being that's how it was at the time.
"My liege, the Queen requests for you as of now." One of the servants tell him. "Thank you." Remington responds quickly as he swerves past them, going to the Great Hall. He doesn't even know the name of that servant, is that bad? There's hundreds of them though, so he supposes it doesn't matter too much.
Walking through the stone hallways, Remington soon reaches the Great Hall. "Ah! Remington! The youngest of my lovely sons!" His mother's voice boomed through the hall, as she approaches Remington with her beautiful tight green dress trailing behind her.
Remington noticed two women behind his mother as he sees his brother Sebastian enter the room. "And Sebastian! The eldest son of mine!" His mother stated. "My sons! There are some beautiful princesses to see you! For your arranged marriages!" His mother spoke happily, yet Remington despised this whole situation.
Remington saw his mother turn around as she shooed a princess away that was walking into the room. 'Was she here for someone else?' Remington questioned. "Boys! Please meet Elisabeth Ludovika of Bavaria, and her twin sister Amalie Auguste of Bavaria!"
