PART III

As Remington rested against his bed, hoping sleep would consume him for the night, he heard a light knock on his door. Remington hummed in response, as to say 'come in'.

He watched as he saw a shadow move closer to his bed, and Remington lit his lantern next to his bed. He was happy to see it was his brother Sebastian. "What brings you here, Sebastian?" He asked his older brother.

"I realized you weren't gladsome about your new wife, I'm sure it will be nice." Sebastian tells Remington as he sits on the edge of his bed. "I am worried Sebastian. It is happening too fast. What if she is rude?" Remington responds.

"Sadly to say, it does not matter if she is rude. You must understand we are doing this for the family. I also have some important news to share with you..." Sebastian states as he trails off.

"What is it? Is it bad news?" Remington asks. "Well, Elisabeth, my new wife is...soon to be the Queen of Prussia. Once we are married, I will become King, and...I will have to move to Prussia." Sebastian says as he lets out a sigh.

"Sebastian! You cannot let this happen! You promised me you would rule here, and make it more peaceful; and now you're leaving me? I cannot believe you." Remington says as he sits up.

"It is not my fault Remington! I am getting married, and so are you! You need to become mature Remington, you cannot ignore your responsibilities and live in your fairytale world! This is real life!" Sebastian states.

"I do not want to become King! I do not want a wife! I need to figure out who Emerson is!" Remington says, as his eyes widen knowing what he had just let slip pass his lips.

"E-Emerson?" Sebastian questions. "Yes, I think I am onto something, the woman mother shooed away at the great hall, it was like she was here for someone else; I overheard mother say I was catching onto something, and on my venture outside I saw a headstone with the name Emerson and our last name!" Remington tells Sebastian.

"You ventured outside the castle? Do you know how much trouble you could be in right now?" Sebastian asks as he raises his voice. "Yes, now quiet down." Sebastian sighed, taking in what Remington had told him. "Remington, I'm not sure what you are talking about.-" "I can show you!" Remington says as he cuts Sebastian off.

"I will not be getting a punishment over your doing Remington." Sebastian says as he turns away. "Please, Sebastian. I should have one person to confide in at least, I promise I will take the blame, just please come with me. It'll be quick, we won't get caught. I've done this many times." "Many times?-" "Sebastian shush, now put this on." Remington says as he throws Sebastian a dark cloak.

Sebastian shakes his head at all this, even the thought about what he was going to do had his head spinning. He was the golden child, he didn't want to ruin that title, nor his relationship with his parents.

Sebastian was taken out of his thoughts as he saw Remington fully dressed in a cloak with a small oil lantern in hand. "Come, be careful as we climb. Keep an eye out as well." Remington told him.

Sebastians nerves were high, yet he was intrigued as well. He wants to believe Remington, yet some part of him worried he might be mad. "Come on Sebastian we need to hurry!"

Sebastian crawled down the stone wall as did Remington and waited for what to do next, how were they supposed to get up and over the  large castle walls. "I'm going to lift you up so you can get over, then I'll jump it okay?" Remington says. "How will you-" "Will you just trust me for once Sebastian?"
