I run to the meeting tent as fast as I can. This must be a pretty important meeting. The tent is huge and it sits in the middle of the camp. Marva and Calix follow me into the test and stay glued to my sides. They both seem so shy. Theon and Meira, on the other hand, run into the tent like they own the place and try to find someone to pet them. Theon runs up to Cass and Meira runs up to my dad, who both pets the wolves.
I make my way to the big roundtable in the middle of the tent and find an empty sport between Nyx and my mom. As soon as I sit down Nyx inches his hand over and grabs onto my and. I looks down at my hand and then as Nyx and he smiles brightly at me. I smile back and squee his hand, letting him know how much I missed this.
"You summoned me." Cassian looks up from petting Theon.
"Evalin we would like you to explain what is going on between you and the Gods because we are all very confused." I knew this question was going to come up at some point. I explain everything as best as I can to everyone. I mention how i'm the "chosen one" , how the Gods picked me before I was born, and how I am going to get more powerful. I also explained how the wolves represent all the new powers aI am going to get. Everyone looks completely shocked. Aedion speaks up first to speak up.
"So you are going to get four new powers." Aedion looks at me completely confused.
"I think so. I have already gained lightning and Marva is like my lightning siphon." Everyone looks at Marva in amazement and she covers closer to me side. She must be so shy. I smile down at her and pet her behind the ears to hopefully calm her down a bit.
"And you are supposed to like, save us all?" Cassian questions me.
"I don't know, maybe? They did not really tell me what being the "chosen one" intels" Nyx squeezes my hand tighter from beside me. He can tell i'm nervous and just as lost as everyone else. Thankfully Rhysand cuts in.
"Well Evalin, it has come to my attention that most of our men want you to be our war leader, and we all agree, so...... will you lead us into battle." A smile creeps onto my face. It feels amazing to know that all these men respect and trust me enough to put me in charge.
"Are you sure, I mean last time I fought in battle it got a little... messy." Cassian snickers from the other side of the table and I shoot him a look.
"We know that was just a heat of the moment thing, I completely trust you." Rhysand sends a soft smile my way and I greatly appreciate the fact that he still trusts me after everything.
"I that case, I would be honored to lead the Night Court into battle" I guard who was perviously standing in the tent runs out the the men and shouts, "she agreed, Evalin agreed to lead us into battle!"
Cheers and shouts can he heard from outside the tents and the attention almost makes me blush. Nyx and I walk out of the tent hand in hand and find everyone jumping around and congratulating me. Nyx pushes the way through the crowd for me and I lean in close to his side. Nyx is smiling wildly. I still can't believe I am actually here, in his arms. Nyx leads me all the way to my tent and stops at the opening. At this point we are all alone.
"my dad and I figured that since you will be fighting with the Night Court, you should have proper Illyrian leathers, with a twist." Nyx smiles at me and he lifts open the flaps of my tent. On my bead lays black Illyrian leathers.
"Wait why don't I get siphons?" I turn towards Nyx, I want siphons like AZ and Cass.
"Because you are far to powerful my love. You are so strong that a siphon would instantly shatter if you tried to use it." My mouth drops to the floor.
"Me? Too powerful." Nyx laughs at me, like fully laughs.
"You have no idea how truly powerful you are do you?" I smile and lean in to hug Nyx. He still feels so warm and safe.
"I have to go ok? I need to train, you can always come join me if you want." I nod up at Nyx and he places a soft kiss on my lips before leaving my alone in my tent. Well not completely alone, I still have Marva, Meria, Theon, and Calix with me.
I sit of the ground and think about how I am supposed to lead an entire army into battle. Marva and Calix laid at my sides and stare into my eyes. Theon and Meira are most likely outside playing with some of the soldiers. All of the wolfs have such captivating eyes, Marva's are a glowing gold and Calix has one glowing yellowish orange eye and one blue eye. If I remember correctly, Meira has glowing white eyes and Theon has petrifying yellow eyes.
I softly run my hands through Marva and Calix's soft fur, mesmerized by how some of Calix's fur glows and Marva's gold fur shines like stars against the rest of her black body. I have only known them for three hours, but I already feel so attached to them. After about ten minutes of me petting them, Calix stands up and motions to my armor on the bed.
"Ugh, Calix can't you just let be lazy" Calix gave me a look, one that reminds me of the look my mom gives me. I quickly give up and stand on my feet, glaring at Calix.
"I thought you guys were supposed to be on my side" Calix jsut goes back to laying on the floor and staring at my.
There are two outfits laid out on my bed, one for battle and one to wear around the camp. My battle outfit was all black leathers like Cassian's and Azriels, but my leathers accentuate my feature, unlike theres. Behind is there is also a black cape with a winged feather deisne, So this is what the twist is that Nyx was talking about.

The second outfit, for around the war camp, is a green strapless button up top with brown boots, pants and a brown cape if I am feeling a little extra. With the outfits are two \ brown leather arm wraps, a brown and silver belt to hold my sword. I put on the second outfit and strap Fenry's dagger to the outside of my thigh.
I turn and glare straight at Calix and Marva.
"are you happy now?" I question Marva and Calix. They both lift their head from the floor in approval. Now I should probably go train with Nyx.
