We stepped inside the cafe and closed the door, causing Bisky and Zushi to look up at us with their eyebrows raised.

"Back so soon?" Zushi asked. I held up my now empty latte cup and gestured to Retz's shirt where she wore it.

"We had a little accident." I laughed nervously and walked over to the trash can to toss my cup. I grabbed a handful of napkins and walked back over to where I left Retz. I handed them to her and she gave me a smile in return as thanks.

"I'm not making you another free latte," Zushi called to me. "Or one for your girlfriend." Bisky turned to him swiftly backhanding him in the head.

"You gave him a free latte?" She stuck her hands on her hips and looked at Zushi.

"I shoulda seen that coming." He sighed, nursing the back of his head. I was glad for the bickering in front of us that distracted from the last part of Zushi's comment. Retz and I walked over to the counter and I ordered the same latte and she ordered a green tea with honey. I paid for our drinks, about five dollars total and then we walked over to the counter to wait.

"So why'd you get a free latte earlier?" She asked me, dabbing her shirt with the napkins I had brought her earlier.

"Well, I just moved to York New a few days ago and I applied for a job here. I start tomorrow so Zushi gave me a free drink to welcome me."

"Oh cool, when did you move here?"

"Two days ago. I moved in with a family friend to go to college down here."

"I go to college here too, but I've lived in the city my whole life. If you ever want someone to show you around, I'd be happy to be your tour guide for the day." She had a slight blush on her cheeks, but I didn't think much of it.

"Oh really? That'd be great! I haven't seen much of the city aside from my drive here and this block." She threw the napkins she had been using in a nearby garbage bin, proceeded to pull her phone out of her back pocket, and handed it to me.

"Give me your number and we can arrange something." I did as she said, putting my name and number in her phone and smiling to myself as I did so. Zushi called out to us and handed us our drinks.
"I've gotta run to work now or I'll be late, but thanks for the tea!" She said, before walking over to the door and opening it. Before she left, she turned around and told me she'd reach out the next time she was free and then walked off to work.

"Two days in the city and you manage to run into a cute girl. Literally, run into her. Lucky bastard." I whipped my head around to see Zushi, head propped up in his arms looking at me. Before I could say anything, Bisky slapped him in the back of the head and then crossed her arms.

"Thanks," I say to Bisky before she hummed in response and walked off. "She ran into me, by the way." I said, turning back to look at Zushi.

"And you still bought her a drink. What a proper gentleman." He batted his eyes at me and laced his fingers together, sticking his hands next to his face and tilting his head towards me in a mocking manner.

"I was just trying to be nice, I mean, I did spill my latte all over her."

"You just wanted to get her number dude, it's ok. You can admit it." I moved to slap him in the side of the head, mirroring Biskys actions but he ducked, avoiding it.

"Please, I deal with that old hag on the daily. You're gonna have to do a lot better than that." He said, in a sing-songy voice before turning around to continue cleaning the dishes were in the sink.

"Whatever man, see you tomorrow." I threw up a half-hearted wave and started walking back to the apartment.

As I walked up the stairs of my apartment complex, I heard two people fighting. I couldn't exactly make out what they were saying. Not because they weren't loud enough, but because they kept cutting each other off and speaking over one another. I wondered what warranted this big of an argument.

"Well if you hadn't burnt-"

"Well if you hadn't forced us to-"

    "You're the one who forgot-"

They kept interjecting each other so much, I couldn't even piece together what was happening. I kept walking down the hallway to Kite's apartment, trying to mind my own business and stay out of their way. I was at the door, putting my keys into the handle, almost escaping scott free.

"Hey Kid!" But the universe had other plans for me today as one of the men arguing called me out. I slowly turned to see who called after me, a tall man whose height even rivaled Kite's. He had jet black hair, slicked back and small circular glasses perched on the tip of his nose that I doubted did anything except pull his outfit together. "Help us out, woulda? We kinda have a problem."

"No, HE has a problem. I have an idiot who keeps causing problems." The shorter one said. He had shoulder length blonde hair, his bangs almost covered his eyes but from what I could tell, they were grey. He had more femine qualities but I could tell by his voice he was a man.

"I didn't even do anything wrong!"

"Tell that to the key you locked inside our apartment!"

"Do you guys have another key?" I butted in, trying to offer a solution.

"No!" They both yelled, without breaking eye contact.

"Why not just call the landlord and ask for a spare key? Or a janitor?" That's when they both broke eye contact and turned ever so slowly to look at me. The short blonde cleared his throat and rubbed his shoulder.

"I suppose... we should have tried that upon realizing my roommate locked our key inside before leaving for breakfast."

"Why you-" The taller man started but was quickly cut off by his shorter roommate.

"Thank you for the suggestion and I'm sorry to have disturbed you with our incessant bickering."

"Oh no, it's fine I only got here towards the end. But, I'm pretty sure the others in the building might have some complaints." I gave them a half hearted laugh and their faces showed small tints of pink from embarrassment. "I'm Gon, by the way."

"Hello Gon, nice to meet you. My name is Kurapika and this is-"

"Name's Leorio, kid." The blonde named Kurapika swiftly kicked him in the shin. He winced deeply and rubbed his seemingly aching leg.

"Leorio, can you at least feign possessing manners while we're in the presence of someone new?"

"It must be hard vomiting a dictionary everytime you open your mouth." This received him another kick in the shin from the spunky blonde. Meanwhile, I just stood there watching the two argue like a married couple.

"Anyways, I apologize on behalf of my roommate. He's quite... uncivilized... at times." Kurapika looked at the door in front of me that had my keys sticking out. "Do you live in room 512?" He asked me.

"Yeah, I actually just moved in with my roommate a few days ago." Kurapika nodded and Leorio kept nursing his bruised shin.

"I suppose that makes us neighbors," He pointed to the room directly across from Kite and I's, signaling that he lived here. "Stop by anytime, if you need something or you're just looking for someone to talk to." I nodded and smiled.

"I will, thank you."

"We'll be off now, to find that janitor. Thank you again for your help. Goodbye." Kurapika walked off and Leorio stumbled after him, slightly limping.

"See ya around kid," I turned back around to my door and finally used my keys to unlock it, stepping inside and bending down to slip off my shoes.

"Hey, how'd it go at the cafe?" Kite asked, watching something while lounging on the couch.

"Good." I walked over and flopped onto the other couch. "Do you know the guys across the hall?"

"The tall one with dark hair and the short blonde?" I nodded. "Not personally but everyone in the complex knows about them through their constant arguing. Why?"

"Are they dating?"

"You know, no one knows." We both laugh a little bit before I turn my attention to the television.
