WARNING: THIS CHAPTER DOES CONTAIN VIOLENCE AND DESCRIPTION OF BLOOD!

"Your mother does love you Loki, no matter what you said to her." The words replay over in her head and Persephone knows she has upset Loki with the truth. His eyes no longer hold that comforting aura he seems to reserve only for her, instead they peer down at her with anger, and self-pity.

"What do you know about me?" He shouts sharply. Her ears ring from his loud voice and she covers them with her hands, dropping the Aster. Catching onto her sign of weakness he snarkily says, "Is this too loud for you?" Her eyes begin to tear up. Loki, who she had started to consider as her best friend is yelling at her.

"I'm sorry Loki for what I said. I thought it would help you. But you know it's the truth. W-we both do."

His eyes blaze with hatred towards her.

"Get out." He demands in a scarily calm voice.

"W-what?" Persephone stutters.

"Get out of my sight you disgusting insect." Venom coats his words.

Pain erupts in her heart as if Loki had physically sent a knife through her chest.

"B-but where will I go?"

"I don't care about your whereabouts, I truly do not care for your presence at all. Just leave my sight."

She's taken aback at his command. Her body refuses to move of her own accord even though she is begging it to move. She is utterly terrified of what Loki will do if she does not obey his command. Her legs cooperate finally as Persephone unsteadily makes her way to the edge of the bed; the plush surface hard to walk upon. A few steps in, he violently picks her up by the back of her dress cutting off the air supply. She desperately claws at the neck of her dress begging for fresh air. He practically throws her onto the ground, and she lands harshly on her stomach knocking the rest of the air out of her. She greedily gulps breath back into her lungs. Tears blur her vision as she shakily stands back up on her weak legs nearing the door. She doesn't spare a glance back at Loki, not exactly sure how it will affect her wellbeing. Emotionally or physically.

Walking down the hallways meant for literal gods to tread upon makes her feel puny. She is clueless as to where to go, since every time she has been out of the room it has been with Loki. She tries not to think about him. She will give him some time and come back later to check on him. After all, we all have our bad days, and she is willing to forgive him. As long as he promises to tell her where his mind ventures from now on.

After another hour of walking, her mouth is dry as the desert and legs shakier than ever she begs for a place to rest. Her pleads are answered as she comes across a nook in the wall. It's small even for her but provides enough shelter. She sighs in relief and takes refuge in its walls. Her stomach grumbles but she pays no mind to it. Water is the only thing she craves. But since there is none of that, sleep will have to do.

She jolts awake to loud noise and vibrations. Footsteps. She backs up as far as her nook will let her and listens to the Asgardian speak to themself.

"Stupid rats, what are they even good for anyway?"

Rats. Persephone had been living in luxury with Loki in her miniature state completely forgetting that she is now on the bottom of the food chain. As if her thoughts have called them to her she hears the awful sound of squeaks. She peeks out from her hole and spots two rats nearing her. She gasps and covers her mouth immediately after doing so, unwanted tears escaping her eyes. Ducking back into her place of safety her heart begins to pound. She can't die at the mercy of two rats. That's pathetic. She wanted to go peacefully in her sleep, with no pain. Doesn't everybody?
